Age: 9|  Weight: 11-10| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: J Motherway| OR:  128| C
7/2
Good second in the Munster National but below-par next time and has been rested since. Claims on his best form but likely to need a lot further than this.

Internal Transfer103
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: D J McInerney(3)| T: E McNamara| OR:  126| C
4/1
Landed a handicap hurdle on this card last year and confirmed a liking for this venue when gaining a first chase win over Christmas. Has a break to overcome and a preference for softer ground.
3
Horse silk
Stooshie19
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: K M Donoghue| T: G Elliott| OR:  126| BF
7/2
Career record of just 1-21 but generally consistent. Best of his three runs over fences came at the first attempt and he should have done better against a lower rated rival last time. Hard to rule out, but the feeling is he will find one too good.
4
Horse silk
Damutb125
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-5| J: L P Dempsey| T: M Winters| OR:  123| CD
10/1
Just 1-16 over fences and generally disappointing since finishing second in a Galway novice event in October. Blinkers tried now after a hesitant round of jumping last time.

Fenlon's Hill18
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-4| J: A W Short(3)| T: P Stafford| OR:  122| D
14/1
Had a good spell in the autumn of 2017 and again in the spring/summer of late year. Will be better for a pipe opener over hurdles last month, but he has little in hand of his current mark.
6
Horse silk
Great Khant26
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-0| J: P T Enright| T: E J O'Grady| OR:  118
12/1
Rated higher than this as a hurdler but has run below this mark in novice chases. Most of these have questions to answer but he has an excuse for a sub-par effort last time having had a respiratory issue.
7

Capture The Drama19
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-10| J: D J O'Keeffe(7)| T: Aengus King| OR:  114| D
8/1
Game effort from the front last time but nevertheless beaten a wide margin and he remains a few pounds above his last winning mark.
8
Horse silk
Alto Esqua11
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-7| J: K J Brouder(5)| T: C Byrnes| OR:  111| BF
4/1
Sent off favourite last time despite a poor run of form in the build up. Struggled to go the pace that day, but would be hard to beat at his best and the extra yardage here could see him deliver more in what is an uncompetitive race for the money.

Forecasts

Stooshie (7/2), Na Trachtalai Abu (7/2), Internal Transfer (4/1), Alto Esqua (4/1), Capture The Drama (8/1), Damut (10/1), Great Khan (12/1), Fenlon's Hill (14/1)

16:45 Limerick - 11 April 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Plenty of negatives and few positives so the market will be a good guide. Stooshie rates better than these on his hurdling form but he has been below that standard since the switch to fences. Fenlon's Hill has conditions in his favour and, although fully weighted, could be ready to run a big race after a run over hurdles recently. Great Khan reportedly made a noise last time indicating a breathing problem and Damut jumped poorly. Course specialist Internal Transfer could have a big say and his chances would improve dramatically if there was rain. ALTO ESQUA has been difficult to train but the market anticipated better last time and he is a tentative selection in the hope the extra 3f helps
  1. Alto Esqua
  2. Internal Transfer
  3. Stooshie
