9/1
Showed improved form to double his win tally over hurdles on his debut for this yard at Plumpton last time (3m1f, soft). Up 5lb for that win he has to overcome a career-high mark on his bid to follow up; more needed to do so.

Another Frontierp47
Age: 8|  Weight: 12-0| J: Jamie Bargary| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR:  117
40/1
Pulled-up in his last three starts over fences he appears to have lost his way rather badly in that sphere, no surprise to see him return to timber. Back on his last winning mark over hurdles but does have something to prove given his recent form.

Kilbrew Boy37
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: L P Aspell| T: B I Case| OR:  115
14/1
Controlled his novice hurdle win at Fakenham from the front (2m4f) but looks to have been handed a fairly stiff mark for handicaps. Ran well enough last time (without a hood) back at Fakenham (2m7f); still has work to do off this mark though.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: D A Jacob| T: B Pauling| OR:  115| BF

Blinkers go on for a return to hurdles for this one who has only had two runs for this yard running with credit first time (trip too short) before being let down by his jumping last time. Lightly-raced; first handicap over hurdles, may do better.

Perfect Pirateb19
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-11| J: C Brace(7)| T: B Pauling| OR:  114
17/2
Has looked a temperamental sort; returned to form last time (backed at long odds) in a 3m Newbury handicap hurdle, finishing a creditable third. Doesn't have much in hand of the assessor off this mark though and attitude remains a worry.
6
Horse silk
Dan Emmettb19
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-11| J: Benjamin Poste| T: M Scudamore| OR:  114
20/1
Fair over hurdles previously he never really took to fences; hasn't exactly looked in any sort of form returned to timber. Took a minor step forward last time but hard to say that he's in the sort of form that will see him winning again.

Horse silk
Vinegar Hillt166
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-11| J: C Gethings| T: S Edmunds| OR:  114
20/1
Back to his last winning mark over hurdles (has a decent strike-rate over hurdles) he returns after an absence. Ran better than his finishing position when last seen over fences (jumping leaves a little to be desired); chance if ready to go.
8
Horse silk
Hastrubal74
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-11| J: R Johnson| T: H D Daly| OR:  114| BF
7/1
Still yet to win a race he's quickly back over hurdles after one less than encouraging race over fences. Should be capable of winning something akin to this (has run well here before over 2m5f); back from a break over the longest trip he's tried.
9
Horse silk
Three Star Generalb19
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-11| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| OR:  114
9/1
Not one to totally trust (has his quirks) although his recent form figures make him look a little more reliable. Ran one of his better races last time but hardly inspires confidence that he can reproduce that here; one to be wary of.
10
Horse silk
Goodnight Charlieb31
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-8| J: Bridget Andrews| T: C Fryer| OR:  111| C
17/2
Regular performer here (three-time course winner) with the last two successes coming over fences. Produced a career-best effort last time over the larger obstacles, staying the 3m5f really well, reverts to hurdles off 3lb higher.

Horse silk
Little Millieb11
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Wayne Hutchinson| T: N B King| OR:  111
11/2
Holding her form well and gained some reward for her consistency when reacting well to the first-time blinkers to take a Uttoxeter handicap narrowly last time (made all). Only up 2lb for that win; should go well, may need a little more.
12
Horse silk
Robinroyalet,v121
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Tom Cannon| T: J Farrelly| OR:  108
40/1
Mixed bag of form for this yard (only one decent run); failed to complete in his last two starts. Visor replaces the usual blinkers (tongue-tie retained); makes no great appeal having never won in handicaps and not likely to start now.
13
Horse silk
His Dreamp19
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.(3)| T: J & A O'Neill| OR:  108| CD
11/2
C&D winner back in December (well supported; owned by race sponsors); produced some variable form since although he wouldn't have been disgraced had he stood up last time. Cheekpieces worn there are retained, not ruled out of this.
14
Horse silk
Early Learnerp191
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: David Bass| T: K Bailey & M Nicholls| OR:  106
25/1
Point-to-point winner who has failed to build on the promise that he showed on her hurdling debut (run poorly the last twice). Ought to be suited by a trip such as this and handicaps may allow her to show more than she has so far with cheekpieces on.
15
Horse silk
Telson Barleyt17
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-13| J: Kielan Woods| T: D Killahena & G McPherson| OR:  102
14/1
Won a small field event at Musselburgh (yard in good form at the time) but was fortunate to do so (looked booked for second; left clear last). Well below form last time (first-time cheekpieces; removed here); hard to make a case for him here.

Forecasts

Little Millie (11/2), His Dream (11/2), Hastrubal (7/1), Perfect Pirate (17/2), Goodnight Charlie (17/2), Three Star General (9/1), Steel Bob (9/1), Telson Barley (14/1), Kilbrew Boy (14/1), Plus One (14/1), Vinegar Hill (20/1), Dan Emmett (20/1), Early Learner (25/1), Another Frontier (40/1), Robinroyale (40/1)

16:20 Warwick - 10 April 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This looks the archetypal wide-open handicap where HASTRUBAL is elected to get off the mark back over hurdles having already shown some decent form over timber and looking as though this trip will suit. Little Millie has been consistent all season long finally coming good last time although this big field may prove harder to dominate. The blinkered first-time Plus One is another who comes with the credentials to win this along with the likes of Early Learner and the well handicapped Vinegar Hill. His Dream is a C&D winner and can’t be left out of the equation with Kilbrew Boy worthy of a mention, this is a complex puzzle to solve.
  1. Hastrubal
  2. Early Learner
  3. Plus One
