Received a good tactical ride to win a poor contest at Kempton. Nevertheless, the handicapper has given her every chance in an ordinary race and another top pilot on board here.
Showed a bit of improvement on third start when 100/1 but back to previous more moderate levels next time. First run of the current campaign and yard are quiet.
Got an easy lead when scoring here over 5f in February. Missed the break next time and not knocked about thereafter. Barely gets 5f so the extra furlong here is an issue.
Showed a bit of promise on first two starts but she has failed to progress. Handicap debut suggested she was in need of plenty of help and she has changed hands since for 18,000 gns. Makes AW debut with a lot to prove.
Has shown a fair bit of speed but she is a 14-race maiden who has to overcome a tricky draw here. Cheekpieces fitted and she is vulnerable to a less exposed rival.
Eight-race maiden who got harsh treatment from the handicapper for her Ffos Las second in August. Has changed hands since last season and needs to have improved greatly for the switch.
Showed some fair form for Charles Hills at the minimum trip and looked a shade unlucky on final start. Has moved yards for 11,000 gns and would go close if fit and ready.
Related to winners from 5f-1m but failed to improve over the latter trip on her latest outing. Reverts to sprinting for handicap debut but her initial mark looks a shade high.
Improved effort on handicap debut when a close second over C&D. Closely matched with Bequest on Wolverhampton form and has improved on that since when narrowly beaten from a poor draw.
Forecasts
Velvet Morn (5/2), Devils Roc (3/1), Sussudio (3/1), Bequest (8/1), Kwela (12/1), Antonia Clara (14/1), Avon Green (20/1), Pink Flamingo (25/1), Miss Gargar (33/1), Vino Rosso (33/1), My Law (66/1)
VELVET MORN beat little at Kempton but she was always in control and her opening mark of 70 looks more than fair. Pink Flamingo has to prove she stays this far, whilst Antonia Clara and Avon Green are hard to win with. Sussudio is usually dropped in behind in an effort to help her settle. She went close here last time and is drawn to get more cover this time. Vino Rosso has changed yards since her last start when she travelled well but got caught short of room at a crucial stage. She is conceding a fitness advantage but would be a danger if ready.
