Won well on debut last October; made a mockery of his 80/1 starting price in the process. Was slowly away and never got competitive on his return last month but should be fitter for the run. Worth a betting check.

Three starts in similar races returned very little and the colt's introductory handicap mark of 69 actually looked harsh at the time. Latest start was more respectable so the return to maiden company is an interesting move. Worth considering.

Cost 45,000 gns and showed the benefit of his debut run to finish third over C&D latest. More required but still looks one to keep tabs on from here; qualifies for a handicap mark after this.

Several winners in his pedigree, including Charles Fosterkane, a winner on the AW over this trip. Yard's runners are going well just now. One to monitor in the betting.

Cost 18,000 gns as a yearling, the gelding is a half-brother to 5f winner Bridge Night and 7f winner Intimately; dam is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Definghtly; yard quiet though.

Never better than mid division on debut over C&D last month and was an expensive favourite to follow. Needs to step up on that run by some way but also must be a reason for the support he received; dangerous to omit.

Cost €25,000 as a yearling; he's a half-brother to Italian 7f winner Swiiss out of an unraced dam who is related to numerous winner. Debut run left a lot to be desired. Improvement needed.

Half-sister to 7f-1m winner Kasumi who showed precious little on debut at Wolverhampton last month. Another who needs to step things up quite considerably.
A half-sister to 1m winner Stylehunter and Turanga Leela, who was a multiple winner over 6f; makes some appeal on pedigree and yard starting to get going now. Worth bearing in mind.

Cost €15,000, the filly is a half-sister to 10.5f winner Dance The Blues, out of a 7f winner who is a half-sister to winners in the States. Highly respected yard and a lot to like on paper. Shortlisted.

Dam won over this trip but this filly looked far from the finished article on debut here last month. Ran wide on that occasion but never a contender for top honours. Big improvement required.

Forecasts

Characteristic (5/4), May Sonic (11/4), Jack Berry House (9/2), Altar Boy (13/2), Jadella Willfin (20/1), My Lady Claire (25/1), Power Of You (50/1), Arvensis (50/1), For Richard (50/1), Ideal Grace (50/1), Foxes Flyer (66/1)

17:45 Kempton - 10 April 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A handful of these are appealing contenders who can at least go on from here; Jack Berry House has already won a race and is probably better than he shopwed last time, while May Sonic attracted plenty of interest on debut but never managed to fully wind up with a sustained challenge; he is likely to be better than he showed on that occasion. For Richard also appeals as one to bear in mind if supported in the betting. However, JADELLA WILLFIN is bred to be highly effective at this trip and gets the nod given her yard's record with debutantes in races of this nature.
  1. Jadella Willfin
  2. Jack Berry House
  3. May Sonic
