Royal Magicp1,t33
Age: 7|  Weight: 12-2| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.(5)| T: S Thomas| OR:  112| D
7/2
Front-runner who has blown rather hot and cold since switched to chasing; 3lb lower than when finishing 6¾L third to Song Saa at Kempton (2m4f+) in January; cheekpieces added; slight reservations stamina wise.
2
Horse silk
Zen Masterh48
Age: 7|  Weight: 12-1| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: C J Mann| OR:  111| C
7/1
Didn't win that often over hurdles, but did develop into a relatively consistent performer (2m-2m4f). However, hasn't looked anything like the real deal over fences yet, with a couple of non-completions on his CV.
3
Horse silk
Troubled Soul71
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-12| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien| OR:  108
10/1
Has mixed hurdling with chasing in recent years; found a suitable opportunity up at Kelso (2m5f+, good) in November when beating Cool Valley by 4L; 7lb higher today following a promising run over hurdles at Leicester in January; chance.
4
Horse silk
Dartford Warbler14
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-7| J: Danny Cook| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR:  103| CD
9/2
Veteran; followed up his Sedgefield win (3m2f) with a fine front-running shift at this track (3m) in February; fairly solid off his revised mark since, and much more predictable than plenty of the others; possibly would prefer rain.
5
Horse silk
King Vinceb1,t72
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: Page Fuller(3)| T: Jamie Snowden| OR:  101WS
16/1
Dual bumper winner for Stuart Kittow in the summer of 2017; placed in a 2m7f maiden hurdle at this track in June 2018, but hasn't made an overly positive impression over fences yet (0-3); blinkers now added.
6
Horse silk
Showem Silverp118
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Sean Quinlan| T: J Candlish| OR:  95
20/1
Still struggling to recapture anything remotely near his peak Irish form; now an 11-race maiden over fences; given time off since competing here (2m3f) in December; has dropped 17lb in four starts for Jennie Candlish; market a guide.
7
Horse silk
Global Dominationp,t45
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-10| J: Harry Skelton| T: Mrs Caroline Bailey| OR:  92| BF| D
8/1
Three-time winner over fences; enjoys some cut underfoot and his trips to Norfolk (Fakenham); 2lb higher than when finishing just under 2L second to Arthur's Reuben at Huntingdon (2m7f+, good) in January.
8
Horse silk
Dallas Cowboy7
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-8| J: Thomas Dowson(3)| T: T J FitzGerald| OR:  90
2/1
0-20 over fences (1-29 overall); hasn't been with this trainer for all that long and appears to be working his way back to match fitness; finished strongly when beaten a neck by Nikki Steel over an extended 2m1f here (good) last week.

Forecasts

Dallas Cowboy (2/1), Royal Magic (7/2), Dartford Warbler (9/2), Zen Master (7/1), Global Domination (8/1), Troubled Soul (10/1), King Vince (16/1), Showem Silver (20/1)

15:05 Market Rasen - 3 April 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

When studying this race, it is worth bearing in mind that rail movements will add a further 126 yards onto the official advertised distance, and that could count against the top-weight Royal Magic and the recent course eye-catcher Dallas Cowboy. Dartford Warbler is a solid stayer who will almost certainly race up with the pace throughout, and should run his usual solid race (rain would suit), whilst Showem Silver is worth a cautionary glance in the market given the yesteryear level of ability that he has demonstrated in Ireland. Although no strong opinion is formed, a very speculative shout in a tricky race is for the versatile mare TROUBLED SOUL.
  1. Troubled Soul
  2. Global Domination
  3. Dallas Cowboy
