Useful sprinter at best, conditions fine but comes into this after a couple of moderate efforts over C&D and despite a drop in grade here, which may help, best to wait until showing a few more signs of life.

Looks to be on the way back to some good form after two efforts this winter after a break, and record here is 1-1, so has plenty of plus points, but stall 11 might mean that he's ridden for some luck in the straight. Risky.

Made all under a Spencer masterclass of a ride at Kempton last week, winning with some authority in the end. Penalty for that negated by booking of excellent young jockey and drawn to attack again. On the shortlist.

C&D winner here in December and only 3lb higher today, so no qualms from a handicapping point of view, but hasn't been finishing his races off with much gusto lately. Others make a bit more appeal.

Very well handicapped these days but in no great form and this trip surely on the short side for him. Others readily make more appeal.

Seems to have been around for ages yet only 7, will win his share again this season and has, in the past, gone well after a break, so with the booking of De Sousa too, cannot be ignored today.

Winner at Doncaster last September and just 2lb higher here, tends to be ridden quietly at the back for a late charge so will need the breaks to come his way. Likely to need this after winter break too, and others are preferred.

Very consistent, came back off his winter break with a successful run at Chelmsford in February and although that was over 7f, he's perfectly at home over 6f as well. Still looks on the right side of the handicapper and should be more to come.

Pops up now and again and does seem to run his race here more often than not, looked very much in need of the run at Kempton last month after a break and should be fitter here. Well drawn too, and although he has his risks, could surprise a few.

Winner here from 4lb higher in January so well handicapped but seems to have gone completely off the boil and hard to recommend him in his current frame of mind. Needs to bounce back or it'll be more of the same.

In good form at present and runs his race almost every time here, so has that in his favour, but this grade is higher than he's used to and he might find a few others too quick for him.

Forecasts

Global Tango (6/4), Field Gun (11/4), Mamillius (5/1), Tan (8/1), Tavener (12/1), Red Alert (20/1), Kodiline (22/1), Zac Brown (25/1), Big Lachie (33/1), Bahamian Sunrise (33/1), Regulator (50/1)

16:00 Lingfield - 2 April 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

There's no shortage of pace here, particularly among those drawn low, and it might be set up for something to pinch this late. That could be FIELD GUN, who has every chance of getting a good position in behind them from stall 6 and with that extra stamina he has, he can come down the outside late to get there in time. Red Alert is another that's likely to be coming late and he can prove the danger if getting across from a poor draw. Tavener, Global Tango and the evergreen Bahamian Sunrise can fight it out for the minor money.
  1. Field Gun
  2. Red Alert
  3. Tavener
