Made all to win at both Stratford (2m3f) and Fakenham (3m) last year, the latter from 6lb lower. Has been well held on his last two starts. Has won when fresh, but wouldn't say his record is sparkling in that respect, so more needed.
Won three out of four at Fontwell, Plumpton and Doncaster late last year, all at around 2m3f. Has been found out twice since then. This trip on a stiff track might stretch his stamina, though he is slipping back to a more feasible mark.
Won three of his 14 chases for Willie Mullins. Best of four hurdles runs for this trainer was his 2½L second at Wincanton last month, when 6lb lower. Reverts to chasing on the back of a lesser effort at Kempton and needing improvement.
Latest win came here over 3m in November, when just 2lb lower. Soft ground wouldn't have been ideal on either start since then. Won over a similar trip to this last year, and should be capable of a much better effort this time.
Second in three of his last four, coming closest to winning at Sandown (2m4f, soft) last time. Up 2lb for that, so more needed, but entitled to plenty of respect.
Forecasts
Favorito Buck's (13/8), Townshend (10/3), Volt Face (9/2), Vivas (5/1), Princeton Royale (8/1)
He drops in trip but this stiff 2m5f still ought to suit FAVORITO BUCK'S, who gets the vote now also back on his favoured good ground. Volt Face looks a solid next best in the line-up, with perhaps Vivas the one to chase that pair home.
