Failed to complete on her first two outings for this yard before performing slightly better in her last two starts (both over hurdles); attracted support last time. Finished well held in the end but now takes a fair drop in grade.

C&D winner on his second try over hurdles in a novice who so far has failed to really fire since over obstacles (handed a fairly stiff-looking mark). Made hard work of things last time out (testing conditions); may appreciate this better surface.

Twice a course winner over longer trips he's run well of late travelling well last time and only losing out late on at Wincanton. Only beaten by a progressive type the time before and ought to be capable of getting involved off this mark.

One of three that the local trainer runs here (looks the outsider of the trio), having not come on for the switch to handicaps after winning a Kempton novice. Well beaten last time in a seller (first-time blinkers); hard to make a case for.

Took a Huntingdon handicap hurdle last October when with James Eustace (subsequently sold £11,000; also had breathing op). Now with a new yard with a new headgear combination; well weighted but may just need the outing.

Winner last time out off the back of a wind op (not long with current yard); travelled well to win over 2m on soft at Plumpton. Up 6lb for that victory but has proved competitive off higher marks; trip presents a slight doubt though.

Still looks a work in progress (this will be just his second handicap start) having failed to handle the 2m speed test at Huntingdon last time. This extra 2f should suit him better and he's one to watch in the market given a stiffer test this time.

Surprise winner of a Taunton novice on quick ground on his third start (weak contest overall). His three handicap starts haven't quite gone to plan though (very free once) and well below form in a first-time hood last time.

Modest Flat maiden who scored on her second hurdles start (fell when running well on debut) but was pulled up last time (bad early mistake; reported to have bled also). Now returns stepping into handicaps for the first time.

One of two C&D winners in the field (scored on his hurdling debut here) he struggled under a penalty before also failing to cope with a stiff looking mark in handicaps. May well have been unsuited by the soft conditions; gets a sounder surface now.

A winner on his hurdles debut he's since run well back on the AW after finding his handicap over obstacles a little stiff. Failed to cope with ultra testing conditions last time at Sandown (well backed); should appreciate this better surface.

Looks to have a very stiff task from 19lb out of the handicap having been pulled up last time out at Huntingdon. Needs to find significant progress to figure here and no signs of that happening as yet.

Plenty of options in what should prove a competitive opener to the card; SOULSAVER has been knocking at the door of late and having already proven himself around here he’s the one to concentrate on. Both Twenty Twenty and Percy Prosecco will appreciate sounder conditions underfoot and come into the equation along with King Muro although the trip might just stretch that one’s stamina. Mr Jack has been running consistently but another place may be the best he can do and it’s expected that Celtic Joy will step forward although 2m4f plus looks more his trip.
