Ryedale Racer117
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mr Aiden Blakemore(7)| T: Ruth Jefferson| OR:  120| CD
7/1
Dual course winner (one over C&D) who has failed to score since that C&D victory, a losing run of nine starts. Not disgraced on his only run so far this season but looks in the grip of the handicapper off this sort of mark.
2
Horse silk
Stoney Rover17
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: S Mulqueen(3)| T: K Scott| OR:  120| CD
10/1
Suited by the step up to this trip when scoring on his third hurdles start over C&D. Finding life tough under his penalty though and whilst hardly losing his way he may well appreciate stepping into handicaps for the first time.
3
Horse silk
Glinger Flamep165
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: B S Hughes| T: N G Richards| OR:  117
7/2
Just four career starts to his name but already gaining a reputation for looking to be an awkward ride, although he has shown some ability also. Better effort over hurdles last time (hangs left); cheekpieces now added going handicapping.
4
Horse silk
Niceandeasy64
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-9| J: Lucy Alexander| T: N W Alexander| OR:  117| CD
7/1
Dual C&D winner who makes his debut for a new yard (won his first three starts for Keith Dalgleish). Back to form from a spell in the doldrums when last seen (first-time cheekpieces; removed here); respite needed at the weights.
5
Horse silk
Pieceoftheaction12
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: Sean Quinlan| T: C Grant| OR:  111| C| D
8/1
Multiple point-to-point winner (4-8) who improved last time on his third start over hurdles finishing a good second over C&D. Now steps into handicaps for the first time; won't be a surprise to see more progress now in this sphere.
6
Horse silk
Rollerrulert21
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: Dale Irving(3)| T: M A Barnes| OR:  110
20/1
Offered something to work on in several of his novice outings proving consistent more than progressive. Handicapper doesn't look to have taken a lenient view of his starts so far; starts life in handicaps off a stiff enough mark.
7
Horse silk
Talkofgoldv17
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-1| J: Danny Cook| T: M Todhunter| OR:  109| CD
13/2
C&D winner (on debut) who added a second career win to her CV when well found in the market at Ayr (2m5f) last time. First-time visor plus a switch to more positive tactics also looking to suit; 7lb higher and does have her quirks.
8
Horse silk
Beyondtemptationh,t21
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-0| J: Thomas Dowson(3)| T: J C Haynes| OR:  108| CD
13/2
Six of her 14 hurdles wins have come here (three over C&D); an admirable front-running mare she proved hard to catch over 2m here on her penultimate start (cashed in off a falling mark). Ran with the same attitude last time; tough mark again.
9
Horse silk
Affaire D'Honneurt25
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-7| J: Harry Bannister| T: A W Carroll| OR:  101
9/2
Could easily compete in lesser grades than this and despite being well handicapped it won't be surprising if he finds one too good at this level. Shaped well enough last time bit does have his quirks to contend with.

Forecasts

Glinger Flame (7/2), Affaire D'Honneur (9/2), Talkofgold (13/2), Beyondtemptation (13/2), Ryedale Racer (7/1), Niceandeasy (7/1), Pieceoftheaction (8/1), Stoney Rover (10/1), Rollerruler (20/1)

15:40 Hexham - 26 March 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Five of the nine that are scheduled to go to post are C&D winners and there should be no lack of pace given the presence of front-running mare Beyondtemptation who as usual will give things a good go off the front despite her mark creeping up again. Glinger Flame obviously has some talent but some quirks to go with it although handicaps may prove to be the key to him along with another debutante in this sphere Stoney River. The most interesting of those stepping into handicaps for the first time is PIECEOFTHEACTION who recorded a very sound over C&D last time. Talkofgold isn’t out of this but may not find it as easy to repeat her positive tactics of last time.
