Scored on the Flat over 1m3½f for Aidan O'Brien at Limerick last June. Didn't jump fluently on Punchestown hurdles debut in January before finishing third of 20 at Gowran Park in a promising run. Excuses for recent defeat and one for the shortlist.

Gelding by High Chaparral out of a Mr Greely mare. Cost 5,500gns at last years Newmarket sales in May. Not disgraced on debut in a Naas bumper last month and may need more experience here on hurdles introduction.

Showed promise in two starts on Flat for Mick Halford at up to 9½f but has looked overwhelmed in a couple of maiden hurdles since last month well held on each occasion. Yard among the winners on Saturday and worth a market check.

13:45 Wexford - 17 March 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

There were excuses for CHRISTOPHER ROBIN on his last start due to a lost shoe during the race and the four-year-old wouldn't have to improve much on previous starts to land the spoils in the opener for Cheltenham festival winning yard. 30,000gns purchase at Newmarket sales in November last year, The Last Emperor can emerge as the biggest danger here on hurdling debut, while Westerner gelding, Western Rambler is another worthy of consideration on first start.
  1. Christopher Robin
  2. The Last Emperor
  3. Western Rambler
