Holy Roman Emperor gelding out of a Galileo mare. 62-rated handicapper on the Flat for trainer George Scott. Ninth of 20 on hurdling debut when in mid division for most of the way before weakening three out. Worth a market check on second start.
Scored on the Flat over 1m3½f for Aidan O'Brien at Limerick last June. Didn't jump fluently on Punchestown hurdles debut in January before finishing third of 20 at Gowran Park in a promising run. Excuses for recent defeat and one for the shortlist.

Beat Hollow gelding out of a Dr Fong mare. Dam useful 2m - 3m hurdle winner. Yard a little short of winners in the last month but have a good overall record with juvenile hurdlers. Market likely to be best guide on debut.
Gelding by Cokoriko out of a Cadoudal mare. Cost €20,000 as a three-year-old and is a half-brother French 1m4f - 1m7f Flat winner Biennale. Best watched on hurdling bow.
Montmartre gelding out of a Kahyasi mare. Brother to French 2m2f hurdle winner Zahra Des Pictons. Easily passed over here on racecourse debut with yard having just one winner in the last 12 months.
Gelding by Salutino out of a Kalanisi mare. Dam unraced sister to bumper winner Kalanisi King. Not disgraced on debut in a Navan maiden earlier this month and expected to improve here for Champion hurdle winning trainer.
Gelding by Westerner out of a Anshan mare. Cost €16,000 as a three-year-old. Half-brother to bumper winner Move Above and point-to-point winner Lisronagh Stone. Looks a long term prospect.
Filly by Cloudings out of a Mountain High mare. Dam unraced half-sister to 2m7f/3m hurdle winner Princess Tiana out of useful bumper/2m4f hurdle winning half-sister to 2m7f - 3m1f chase winner Good Time Melody. Best watched on debut.

There were excuses for CHRISTOPHER ROBIN on his last start due to a lost shoe during the race and the four-year-old wouldn't have to improve much on previous starts to land the spoils in the opener for Cheltenham festival winning yard. 30,000gns purchase at Newmarket sales in November last year, The Last Emperor can emerge as the biggest danger here on hurdling debut, while Westerner gelding, Western Rambler is another worthy of consideration on first start.
