Not spotted since falling in Down Royal Grade 1 over fences in November, can run from a much lower rating over hurdles but hard to be confident.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: P Townend| T: W P Mullins| OR:  136
12/1
Lightly-raced winner over hurdles, was poor recently at Leopardstown but couldn't be ruled out with any certainty if bouncing back.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: H De Bromhead| OR:  131

Won three times on spin in 2017 but she has been struggling more recently. 50-1 when finishing down the field at Leopardstown latest.

Some encouragement from return to action at Navan but that was wiped out with poor effort next at Cork (2m4f, soft). More questions than answers at the moment.

Good third over 3m at Leopardstown last time, drops in distance here and entitled to be on the premises with a repeat showing.

Mare has plenty form in the book to suggest she can play a hand in this, including latest third of 18 in Cork handicap (2m4f, soft). Likes to get her toe in.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-13| J: J S McGarvey| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  127
25/1
Lightly-raced maiden hurdle winner, potentially has plenty to offer in this sphere and worth a betting check on first start since last spring.
8

Count Simonb7
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| OR:  126
16/1
Novice hurdle winner last summer at Downpatrick (2m1½f, good) and has been running well since the turn of the year without scoring. Interesting now tackling a handicap.

Gran Geste197
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-11| J: L P Dempsey| T: Miss E Doyle| OR:  125

Winner of a maiden hurdle at Navan two years ago but not really able to build any consistency since. Back from a break now and probably easier to be cautious.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-9| J: S W Flanagan| T: N Meade| OR:  123| BF
20/1
Maiden hurdle winner at Cork in November (2m, yielding), since a disappointing favourite back there on soft-ground in January. Remains with potential for better, yard in form.

West Coast Timet22
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-9| J: J J Slevin| T: J P O'Brien| OR:  123
4/1
Was returning from over a year off when catching the eye with staying-on second over 2m4f (yielding to soft) at Gowran Park last month. Form boosted since and well worth an interest now.
12
Horse silk
Golden Jewel15
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-7| J: B Hayes| T: E Cawley| OR:  121| C
20/1
Course winner, ran fair race last time at Fairyhouse in sixth spot, could go well back here with conditions/track to suit.
13
Horse silk
Torcellop180
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-7| J: B J Cooper| T: A McNamara| OR:  121
40/1
Smart Flat performer, only beaten 4¼L in valuable Listowel handicap (2m, yielding to soft) when last spotted. Mark unchanged if fit enough to do justice on first run since September.

Harethp50
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-4| J: P T Enright| T: C Byrnes| OR:  118| D
20/1
Five-time winner over hurdles, will relish any rain that arrives and could be on a decent mark if putting his best foot forward. Not shown it for a while however.
15
Horse silk
Masterstonemasonp72
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-3| J: P D Kennedy| T: F Costello| OR:  117

100-1 and no surprise to see him struggling last time a Limerick in a Grade 3 over 2m on soft. More realistic mission now, albeit career-best is needed.
16
Horse silk
The Big Lenset15
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-3| J: M P Walsh| T: G Elliott| OR:  117
8/1
Caught the eye when landing his maiden in a Bellewstown contest in August. Not strictly built on that in two starts since but potentially still has plenty more to offer for top connections.
17
Horse silk
Mount Pelier8
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-2| J: D Meyler| T: A Fleming| OR:  116

Second last week on handicap debut at Navan (2m4f, soft), should have more to offer having gone up 3lb for that promising run.

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-11| J: N P Madden| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  111| BF

Appeared to have more to offer when beaten 3L in Fairyhouse handicap in December (2m, good to yielding) having done best work late in the piece. Up 3lb and could have a major say.

Spider Web105
Age: 8|  Weight: 9-11| J: M A Enright| T: T Mullins| OR:  111| BF

Has made his money over fences typically, reverts to hurdling off dramatically lower mark but likely going to find a few of these too good.

Forecasts

Mount Pelier (4/1), West Coast Time (4/1), Ilikedwayurthinkin (7/1), The Big Lense (8/1), Jimmy Breekie (10/1), Spider Web (12/1), Sayar (12/1), Count Simon (16/1), Mary Frances (16/1), Golden Jewel (20/1), Laverteen (20/1), High School Days (20/1), Dromore Lad (20/1), Hareth (20/1), Spades Are Trumps (25/1), Sandymount Duke (33/1), Gran Geste (33/1), Torcello (40/1), Masterstonemason (66/1)

16:20 Naas - 10 March 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

He was entitled to need the run at Gowran Park last time and WEST COAST TIME was given plenty to do before finishing nicely in second spot. That form was franked when the winner defied an 8lb rise to score at Thurles this week and Joseph O'Brien's charge should have strong claims in this competitive affair having gone up just 4lb himself. There are a hatful of potential dangers, with Jimmy Breekie, Mary Frances and Mount Pelier firmly amongst them. Ilikedwayurthinkin and The Big Lense are likely improvers while smart Flat performer Torcello ran well at Listowel in the autumn and could have a say if ready to fire from an unchanged mark.
  1. West Coast Time
  2. Torcello
  3. Count Simon
