Macs Legend13
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-11| J: M J M O'Sullivan(7)| T: G Kelleher| OR:  109
8/1
Has won two of his last three between the flags including a defeat of Fenno's Storm at Kildorrery a fortnight ago. Had that race gifted to him and will do well to concede that rival weight here.

6/4
Had to fight hard to beat Fenno's Storm at Fairyhouse last April when conditions were softer than ideal. His rival made mistakes that day and there should be little between them again this time.
Not in the best of form in point-to-points and hunter chases this winter and finds himself in a very hot contest here.

Fenno's Stormv113
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: R Deegan(5)| T: D Queally| CD
9/4
Took this 12 months ago and arrives in good form from the point-to-point field. Beaten by Macs Legend at Kildorrery two weeks ago when a mistake two out cost him dear and he should reverse the placings on these terms.

Anseanachai Clisteb14
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-4| J: Daire James McConville(7)| T: J J Lambe| OR:  109
50/1
Former Ulster National winner ran well at Fairyhouse last April but has been below-par since and faces a difficult task here.
6
Horse silk
14/1
Last of six on hunter chase debut and, although respected for top connections, it is hard to respect his chances in another top-class race of it's type.
7
Horse silk
25/1
Has a top French pedigree and as such is possibly better than his success in a slowly run Ballinaboola point-to-point suggests.
8
Horse silk
80/1
Point-to-point form has deteriorated and he was pulled up on his last hunter chase start in a weaker race than this.
9
Horse silk
Enniskillenp,t20
Age: 14|  Weight: 11-4| J: Mr H D Dunne(5)| T: Peter Maher| OR:  84
66/1
2017 Punchestown festival winner over the banks but now of advancing years. Won a point last season to show he still retains ability but his latest runs do not indicate he is up to this standard.

Horse silk
Salsify20
Age: 14|  Weight: 11-4| J: Mr F Maguire(3)| T: R Sweeney| OR:  139| D
7/1
Once a beacon in this sphere, winning at Cheltenham Festival in 2012 and again in 2013. Long way below that form in the last couple of years and held by Sizing Coal on last year's form.

Horse silk
Thunder And Rosesp,t20
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-4| J: Mr T Hamilton(5)| T: R O'Sullivan| OR:  131
10/1
2015 Irish Grand National winner has fallen from grace land his latest run clearly indicates he is not good enough at present.
12
Horse silk
80/1
Has a 2-16 record in point-to-points and, although arriving in form, she does not look up to this standard of competition.

16:50 Gowran Park - 9 March 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

SIZING COAL and Fenno's Storm had a good tussle at Fairyhouse last year with the selection narrowly prevailing. Once again conditions are not ideal for Jim Dreaper's horse but the bigger field should allow for a more generous gallop and that should be enough to see him confirm superiority. His rival arrives in good form from the point-to-point field and is the obvious danger given he should turn the tables on Macs Legend who beat him at Kildorrery.
