The Paddy Pie15
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Danny Cook| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR:  126| C
3/1
Scored here over 2m½f in January (soft) and followed up at Haydock (2m4f, good) last time, after just a 1lb rise. Up another 4lb and looks like being a leading contender again.

Bulkovp35
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: Alain Cawley| T: Micky Hammond| OR:  123| C
8/1
Has won three times here over hurdles. 0-6 over fences so far, and was last seen finishing 2L third to The Paddy Pie over 2m½f here in January. Now 6lb better off with Sue Smith's runner, so can't rule out him reversing the placings.

Manwellt15
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-9| J: Jonathan England| T: S England| OR:  123
8/1
Recorded back-to-back wins at Catterick and Wetherby in January, but a total rise of 15lb for that saw him edged out by The Paddy Pie here in January. Finished much further behind him at Haydock last time, so needs to get back on track.

Cap Du Nordp110
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-11| J: James Bowen| T: Christian Williams| OR:  111| CD
9/4
Broke his chasing duck at the sixth attempt here over C&D (good) last month. Up 6lb for that, but there looked to be more to come, and cheekpieces may also prove positive. Claims.

Castletownb51
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-5| J: B S Hughes| T: Miss P Robson| OR:  105| BF
9/4
Runner-up here over 2m½f in January from this mark, following two other seconds at Kelso. Has the ability to go close, but doesn't always see out his effort and again looks vulnerable for win purposes.

Forecasts

Cap Du Nord (9/4), Castletown (9/4), The Paddy Pie (3/1), Manwell (8/1), Bulkov (8/1)

15:55 Sedgefield - 3 March 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A trappy contest, where none of the quintet can be ruled out. However, THE PADDY PIE returns here in fine form, acts at the track and is taken to defy another 4lb rise. Bulkov is handily placed at the weights to reverse placings with the selection, but he has to come up with the goods, and Cap Du Nord could be the biggest danger. Neither Manwell nor Castletown is written off.
  1. The Paddy Pie
  2. Cap Du Nord
  3. Castletown
