Holds a Grand National entry and needs to repeat the gallant effort in the Troytown over 3m in November finishing second of 25 beaten 4½L. Yard in good form recently with plenty of runners hitting the frame.
Smart novice but only win came back in 2017. Running well in defeat last month finishing second of nine beaten 14L in a Naas handicap chase on good to yielding ground over 2m4f. Step up in trip a positive.
Winner of two of his last four chase starts including a win over Danse Away in a tight finish at Cork when last seen in January off a 7lb lower mark. Could be a tough ask off a career high mark.
Winner of a Limerick handicap chase in December off 4lb lower mark but has failed to complete in his last three starts over the larger obstacles and hasn't shown enough recently to be of interest here.
Beaten 50L on his first start for new connections since leaving the Philip Hobbs yard. Last win came in a Chepstow handicap chase over three years ago and may need a couple of these to falter in first-time cheekpieces.
Only chase win a three-runner Towcester contest in 2017. Has shown little aptitude in a couple of starts since returning to action in January to be considered in this company.
Forecasts
Mr Diablo (5/4), Velocity Boy (5/2), Concordin (6/1), Lamb Or Cod (8/1), Shelford (10/1), Lilshane (14/1)
With a number of these veterans sending out mixed messages recently a handy opening has emerged for the J P McManus-owned CONCORDIN to follow up on his 2m4f victory in a Cork handicap chase when last seen in January. The step up in trip will not hinder the 11-year-old as he land the spoils ahead of Velocity Boy and Troytown runner-up in November, Mr Diablo.
