100/1
Made an eye-catching debut (33/1) when finishing a keeping on fifth to Kareena Kapoor over C&D (Class 4 novice) last month; a son of Orientor, he's guaranteed to win races in the future, just not in this elevated company today.

£200,000 yearling who is tough to knock in terms of consistency (3-6 overall; 2-3 on the AW); regularly does things the hard way from the front as was the case when downing the 5/4f James Street at Lingfield in January (Class 3 handicap).

Forecasts

Barbill (13/8), Deep Intrigue (5/2), You Never Can Tell (6/1), Don Armado (7/1), Quiet Endeavour (11/1), Walkman (18/1), Call Me Ginger (100/1)

15:45 Newcastle - 20 February 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A Fast-Track Qualifier for All-Weather Championships Finals Day. Barbill is top-rated of the seven declared runners, but has a 3lb penalty for his Listed win in deep conditions at Chantilly in November. Quite how he'll fare now switched to the AW (debut) off a 99-day break is open to interpretation and whilst he deserves to head the market, he can be taken on in pursuit of value. A fast pace is guaranteed with both Deep Intrigue and Quiet Endeavour known for operating on the sharp end and this might set the race up for a finisher, so we'll take a chance on DON ARMADO who was seen to maximum effect when adopting hold-up tactics at Glorious Goodwood in August.
  1. Don Armado
  2. Barbill
  3. Deep Intrigue
