Dual hurdles winner ran an excellent race over Christmas when third in a class 4 at Kempton but fell next at Cheltenham. Handicap mark here certainly in sight especially at this level but ground may be soft enough.

Four-time winner over hurdles although most recent back in 2016. Unplaced in last four and beaten 41L as favourite latest so claims now far from compelling.

French hurdle winner started off for this yard with a respectable third at Fontwell but pulled up before two out over C&D since on similar ground. Represents top yard but that only obvious plus here.

Dual winner for Nicky Henderson ran respectably latest when second in a Leicester selling handicap. Back in trip now and faces much softer ground which is on past form a concern.

Ended last season with back-to-back wins but pulled up on first start of this campaign in a warm C&D class 3 on heavy ground. This lacks the depth of that race and gets 2lb back so should fare better.

Poor overall record but has made the frame in his last eight so remarkably consistent performer on the whole. Softer ground last time posed no issues and although handicapper again raises the stakes he should continue run of form.

Hereford maiden hurdle winner last term but made little impact in four starts since. Handicapper easing the burden and ground will suit yet others remain more compelling.
8

Dorking Cock51
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: Stan Sheppard(3)| T: T Lacey| OR:  112
10/1
Lightly raced maiden ran a respectable race on handicap debut when third at Wetherby over 2m3½f last time out. Softer ground and shorter trip here but neither overly concerning and still open to improvement.

Six-race maiden beaten 46L on reappearance at Bangor in December. May strip fitter now and cheekpieces added but leap of faith required.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-3| J: Harrison Beswick(6)| T: O Sherwood| OR:  111| D

Fakenham winner in December finished third in two subsequent starts suggesting a level of consistency now about his form. Softer ground likely here and mixed messages in that regard but go well if handling it.

Briac25

Won this last year and seeks a hat-trick here after comfortable successes at Ffos Las over hurdles and Sedgefield over fences. 11lb higher now so stakes raised but jockey allowance helps and hat-trick entirely possible.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-1| J: Jordan Nailor(3)| T: R Hobson| OR:  109

Five-race maiden finished fifth and fourth twice in novice company. Cheekpieces added for handicap debut so cause for hop but would need a marked step up here.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-6| J: Sean Houlihan| T: P Phelan| OR:  100| D

Ran a couple of solid races in class 5s ay Plumpton but less effective latest upped to this level. Looks up against it once more despite feather weight.

12:50 Sandown - 15 February 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Last year's winner BRIAC arrives in great form after comfortable wins at Ffos Las and Sedgefield and despite an 11lb weight rise he looks to have a very realistic chance to follow up here. Maquisard ran well at Kempton tow back before falling latest and he represents a genuine threat. Unexposed Dorking Cock ran well on handicap debut and is also respected for a good yard.
