Pleasant Gesture12

18/1
Has done most of her racing on the AW in France where a third to Capla Gilda (rated 77 when trained here) rates her best effort. Unseated at Lingfield late last month, but should be competitive if avoiding misfortune.

Winner on turf debut at Leicester (5f, good to soft) in April but hasn't kicked on since, including on the AW on last few starts. Slipping in the weghts, and useful claimer reduces burden further, so can have few excuses.

Has been slow to stride, but away on terms when an improved third on handicap debut over 5f at Newcastle last month, and entitled to go well with longer trip expected to suit.

Nearer last than first in three quick runs for David Brown in October, and opening mark stiff enough, but clearly prepared with handicaps in mind, and no great surprise if he improved for new yard now.

Not So Shy2
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-12| J: E J Walsh| T: P D Evans| OR:  56

Standout effort when a keeping-on second at Lingfield last month, but her efforts either side of that don't read nearly as well, and she remains opposable on balance.

Beat Not So Shy at Lingfield last month, and built on that form when a good second of 13 to Rajman there last time. Clearly going the right way, and only 2lb higher than for her win, so entitled to respect.

Eye Of The Water55
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: P Mathers| T: R Harris| OR:  52| BF| D
7/2
Won a weak Ffos Las nursery in September, and appeared to take a step forward back in novice company at Kempton in December. Arguably did too much in front when second at Chelmsford (7f) last time, and worth another chance.

11-race maiden whose best efforts have come when ridden on the pace. Not beaten far on last few starts and should be thereabouts again.

Deconso12

Sprung a big shock in a low-grade C&D handicap last month, but was well below that form at Newcastle last time, and others make more appeal on balance.

Just a modicum of promise shown in three qualifying runs, and she needs to improve to get involved here.

Produced a much better effort when fourth to Deconso here last time, and now tried in cheekpieces, so could get involved, but her record is patchy at best.

Eye Of The Water (7/2), Hua Hin (4/1), Ever Rock (13/2), Madame Vitesse (15/2), Deconso (8/1), Lincoln Spirit (8/1), Not So Shy (11/1), Temple of Wonder (12/1), Wye Bother (16/1), Pleasant Gesture (18/1), Awa Bomba (18/1), Dancing Jaquetta (80/1)

17:10 Wolverhampton - 6 February 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

EYE OF THE WATER is given another chance to confirm the promise of his Kempton effort having been stretched by the trip at Chelmsford last time. Lincoln Spirit is the main danger on recent evidence and the handicapper has not been harsh. Madame Vitesse improved at Newcastle and should do better again tackling 6f, so is also worth considering.
  1. Eye Of The Water
  2. Lincoln Spirit
  3. Madame Vitesse
