Returned from wind surgery with a victory in a 3m1f novice chase at Catterick (good) at the start of this month. Carries a penalty for that victory and represents a leading stable.
Broke his maiden over fences when winning a 3m novice chase on good ground at Doncaster last time out. Previously 7L second in a small field Grade 2 at Newbury (2m4f, good-to-soft) and likely to play a leading role.
Justified odds-on favouritism when winning over an extended 2m1f at Exeter (good-to-soft) earlier this month. Struggled in Listed company subsequently and any overnight rain would aid his chances.
Stepped up on chase debut when finishing runner-up in a novices' handicap over an extended 2m7f at Chepstow (soft) a month ago. Any overnight rain would aid his chances in this contest.
Point-to-point winner by 5L on soft ground at Dromahane in March 2017. Fair fourth in that sphere subsequently but set a stiff task on Rules and stable debut following over 18 months off the track.
High class novice hurdler last season but disappointed when sent off favourite for a Grade 2 novice event over an extended 2m4f at Cheltenham (good-to-soft) on chase debut earlier this month. Interesting stepping up in distance.
Point-to-point winner on heavy ground in February last year. Struggled under Rules since however and probably best watched on debut over fences.
Forecasts
Talkischeap (5/4), On The Blind Side (7/4), White Moon (13/2), Bob Mahler (8/1), Duke Debarry (16/1), Noruki (80/1), Bean Liath (100/1)
The step up in distance should suit ON THE BLIND SIDE and he is sure to have been well schooled since disappointing on chase debut earlier this season. The selection was a classy novice hurdler last season and can get the better of Talkischeap who has to concede weight to his main rival while third place can go to White Moon who contested a Listed event last time.
