Built on his strong GB debut form (race contained five next time out scorers) when winning at Exeter last time by 8L. Jumped/travelled well and saw out a similar trip to this well only having to be pushed clear; clear chance even with a penalty.

Useful form in a couple of bumpers (one here) he showed a good level of form to beat two last time out hurdles winners on his debut in that sphere. Likely to win more races and has scope to go over further than this, looks the main danger.

Already a point-to-point winner but has had ten starts in that discipline before showing a bit more than on his hurdles debut last time. Started 100-1 on both hurdling starts; room for improvement in his jumping and this is a tougher contest.
Appeared to show ability in bumpers and caught the eye despite only finishing 10th last time at Wincanton. Hooded (for the first-time) he was held up in rear until making up ground from mid-race; never faced much pressure, one to note longer term.

Made his stable/hurdles debut after a long absence having shown ability in his only bumper start. First-time tongue-tie worn last time and looks bound to improve for more experience over obstacles; may need a little more time.

First run back from a wind op (equipped with a tongue-tie, first-time) having shaped without a lot to offer on his bumper debut. Now given a first attempt at hurdling but hard to imagine him taking a hand in the finish.

Well held down the field in the Festival Champion bumper when last seen; never looked up to the task. Won at the third time of asking in bumpers here last February; clearly has ability but may need this experience; worth noting any market confidence.
Got off the mark when winning at the fourth attempt in Irish point-to-points; has a very stout/stamina-laden pedigree. Contrasting two runs at Plumpton so far; moving well when falling 3 out on debut; poor last time; one for handicaps in time.
Looking at his pedigree he has a little to recommend him but he was too green to show anything on his bumper debut (last of nine). Similar if not worse story on hurdles debut (always behind; showed nothing); hard to fancy here.

Second runner in the race for the trainer with this one also looking of restricted ability also. Had the three runs in bumpers so far but appears to be regressing rather than progressing; hurdles debut but not one to excite.

Forecasts

Greaneteen (4/7), On The Slopes (5/2), The Flying Sofa (5/1), I'd Better Go Now (14/1), Crossley Tender (25/1), Uallrightharry (50/1), Minnie Escape (66/1), Hymn And A Prayer (66/1), Shutscombe Hill (100/1), Vinnie Rouge (100/1)

14:00 Fontwell - 27 January 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The form that GREANETEEN showed on his debut at Sandown could hardly have worked out any better with plenty of winners to come out of the race and he joined their ranks when scoring in good style at Exeter. He has the scope to go on from that run and has already earned a handicap mark of 134. On The Slopes the other runner with a penalty should give him a good test though despite his form not quite being at the same level as the Nicholls inmate. The Flying Sofa hasn’t been seen since running in the Champion Bumper (a race that has proved a rich source of novice hurdle winners) and he should be noted the market along with I’d Better Go Now and the eye-catcher from Wincanton Hymn And A Prayer.
  1. Greaneteen
  2. On The Slopes
  3. The Flying Sofa
