Started life in good fashion for this yard landing a chase and a hurdle on his first two starts over slightly shorter trips than he faces today. Failed to build on those two runs (both over hurdles) off a higher mark; can look a little awkward.

Handicap/stable debutante (yard a little quiet at the moment) who has had success in the Irish point-to-point field (after four thirds in a row). Showed a little promise in her novice starts (generally made running) and of interest in this sphere.

From a yard in a rich vein of form that should always be respected with their recruits from other yards. Dual Sedgefield scorer who appeared to lose her way for her former yard over fences and now returns over hurdles; note any market confidence.

Kept fairly active and generally runs his race although he looks fully exposed off marks such as this. Still managed to pick up a race in slightly lesser grade on his penultimate run of last year off 6lb lower; should run well but others appeal more.

Hardly has the most compelling profile over hurdles (1-16) with just a heavy ground Hexham novice to his name. Looks to be working his way back to peak fitness now after an 8 month break; should run with credit off a workable mark, place chance.

9/2
Struggling to match his Flat form (four-time winner) over obstacles and failed to show any improvement on his handicap hurdle debut (first-time blinkers); might not have got home over 2m4f. Travelled well last time; this trip may prove more suitable.

Dance Of Fire15
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-8| J: Mr Kit Alexander| T: N W Alexander| OR:  88

Given his decent Flat performances he looks well handicapped in this sphere but despite being supported he continues to be a frustrating/disappointing sort. Turned in a very lack lustre display last time; becoming hard to trust.

Forecasts

Its All A Lark (3/1), Take A Break (3/1), Dew Pond (9/2), Manetti (11/2), Dance Of Fire (6/1), Green Zone (8/1), Midnight Walk (10/1), Pc Dixon (11/1)

12:55 Kelso - 22 January 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A problematic opener to the card with It’s All A Lark sure to be well fancied making her debut for the McCain yard who won’t lack for assistance in the saddle but the yard are a little quiet at the moment and it may pay to take a chance on another mare MIDNIGHT WALK. Formerly with the McCain yard she now makes her debut for Julia Brooke whose yard is in great form and does well rejuvenating types such as this. Manetti is another from a yard going well (Nick Alexander) who will appreciate going handicapping with Dew Pond another to throw in the mix back to a more suitable trip. Green Zone is consistent at this level but is very much summed up by his mark.
  1. Midnight Walk
  2. Manetti
  3. Dew Pond
