Likable performance in winning first hurdle start at Hereford in November but unable to follow up next at Ludlow under a penalty finishing fourth of 11. Penalty again to overcome here but longer trip may help. Each-way claims.

Comfortable winner of a Kelso maiden in first start over hurdles which looked a pretty ordinary contest on paper. Could do little more than win it but this considerably tougher under a penalty and changed stable since.

Dual bumper winner including here gave potentially top class Al Dancer a race first time up over hurdles when a 1½L second. Won next time before fourth to a horse who has followed up since. Form sets a high standard here.

Beaten over 100L when last of nine in a Catterick maiden last month. With that the only racecourse evidence so far he can't be suggested.

Hurdling debut second in 2017 remains his best effort to date. Five starts over hurdles now and latest down the field run at Wetherby did little to suggest first win being imminent.

Cost £100,000 after winning Irish maiden point-to-point and has shown potential under Rules with three placed efforts. Seconds the last twice over similar trips both bode well and receives weight from main rivals.
Son of Scorpion won his second of two point-to-points in April and was then bought by these connections for £26,000. Half-brother to four winners under Rules so hopefully run a solid race here.

Seventh of eight beaten 54L on debut at Hexham when very easy to back last month, his only racecourse outing so far. Can only be watched here.
Never better than midfield on three bumpers and pulled up in both starts over obstacles, one chase, one hurdle. Can't be put forward here based on evidence so far.

25/1
Promising Wetherby bumper second on debut where she ran green not built on in two subsequent starts in similar contests. Hopefully hurdling be the making of her but unlikely to be heavily involved here.

Forecasts

Windsor Avenue (7/4), Hill Sixteen (5/2), Massini Man (5/1), Romeo Brown (11/2), Mill Race King (8/1), Hello Bertie (20/1), Manon (25/1), Peak Time (66/1), Chauvet Cave (66/1), Rocket Man Rodney (100/1)

15:30 Sedgefield - 21 January 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

WINDSOR AVENUE has run well in all three hurdle races despite only winning one and this former dual bumper scorer can equal that tally over hurdles by winning here. Hill Sixteen is rated as the main threat after two good seconds the last twice and the fact that he gets 6lb from the penalised winner can only aid the cause. Massini Man is another winner with a potentially good future ahead of him and he hails from a highly respected yard.
  1. Windsor Avenue
  2. Hill Sixteen
  3. Massini Man
