Took advantage of a drop into this grade and a generous fall in the weights to score here last week over 5f. Equally effective over this trip, but a penalty demands improvement given he had been finding a mark of 80 beyond him.
Made it 2-3 for this yard when making all last month. Had little left that day and a 4lb rise makes this a tough ask from a poor draw.
Joined this yard for 16,000 gns having won three races for Bryan Smart. Will appreciate his new mark and a drop in grade, but he has gone 17 races and almost two years without a win.
Salisbury winner for Richard Hannon but yet to fire for current yard and a hood tried on this occasion.
Has made the frame in all seven AW starts and new handler wastes no time in switching distances and applying headgear following stable debut. There should be a good pace to aim at and he looks the one to beat.
Back to back wins over C&D and at Kempton have been followed by two good efforts in better company at the latter venue when drawn wide. Has a decent draw here and definite shortlist material.
Won back-to-back races at Kempton and Windsor in the summer but not so good off revised marks since. Now just 1lb above last winning mark and yard's horses are running well.
Closely matched with Walk On Walter on latest run when he had the advantage of taking a shorter route. Drawn wide here and others are more appealing.
Won a class 6 over C&D last month but well held off this mark since and 0-4 in this grade.
Bolted up in a C&D class 6 contest. Held off this mark since and up another class level from a wide draw.
Goes well here and arrives on the back of two victories when delivered late. Up in grade here but potentially still ahead of the handicapper.

Many of these arrive in form but with something to prove in this grade off their current marks. CHOICE ENCOUNTER has a consistent record at this level and he is at his best on AW surfaces. It will not be long before Archie Watson works his magic and it is possible the application of headgear plus a new trip will conjure some improvement. Wotadoll, Busby and Moon Song may give him most to do, but Chookie Dunedin and Walk On Walter face stiff tasks from tough draws.
