Can be a sketchy jumper, but was largely fluent when winning over shorter here last month, adding to solid course record. Stamina for this trip not assured, and new mark demands more.
Needed his return over hurdles at Fontwell, and shaped well without being punished on chase debut at Chepstow last month (19L behind Barbrook). Will improve in this sphere, and one to bear in mind.
Two of his three career wins have come over fences here and he stays well. Disappointed at Ludlow last time, but not a big surprise to see him bounce back at his favoured venue.
Maiden over hurdles, and yard second string on chase debut at Chepstow, but really caught the eye in finishing third to Glen Forsa. Jumped soundly there, and looks sure to win races in new discipline.
Off the track for some time, but fit from point-to-point action when 4L third of 7 to By The Boardwalk in handicap chase at Huntingdon last time. Remains to be seen whether he can build on that.
Bold-jumping veteran who can be hard to peg back when on song, and revels in the mud, but he's likely to need this outing after a lengthy break, and passed over accordingly.
Forecasts
Barbrook Star (13/8), Quarenta (5/2), Muckle Roe (9/2), Jarlath (7/1), Paddy The Oscar (14/1), Gold Patrol (16/1)
With dual course winner Jarlath having stamina to prove at this trip, this is best left to BARBROOK STAR, who made a good impression when third on his chase debut at Chepstow. Quarenta is held on that piece of form, but is open to plenty of improvement, and isn't easily ruled out.
