Three-time winner last year has been rather hit and miss this term. Kilbeggan second and Navan fourths would be competitive but other five races uninspiring including the last twice.

Reverted to hurdles the last twice after failing to make any real impression in five chases where he was never nearer than fourth. Others can bring stronger form to the table and has plenty of weight.

Yet to win over fences (nine races) but ran two sound races at Gowran (fifth) and Downpatrick (fourth) before unseating at Cheltenham two weeks ago. Each-way possibilities here if that hasn't left any mark.

Seven-time chase winner returns to last winning mark from Tipperary in May after a run of uninspiring efforts over hurdles and fences. Mark now appealing again but eight races since win all unplaced.

Three-time point-to-point winner set up a Cheltenham Festival run when bolting up in a 2016 hunters chase at Limerick. Fell there and tailed-off in only run under rules since but this more realistic now so not ruled out.

Useful hurdler has yet to make any real impact over fences with three remote efforts at Galway, Wexford and Naas. Starts out handicapping off a mark 10lb lower than he has over hurdles but would have liked to see some encouragement.

Moderate strike rate overall but did win here in January (2m7½f) for Charles Byrnes over fences. Fair form afterwards but not fired in two runs for this yard and was pulled up last time out at Cork. Risky proposition.

Four time chase winner has shown little in three novice chases recently leading to him heading into this handicap 13lb lower than his hurdles rating. Possibilities with that in mind but great deal more needed.

Yet to make the frame but some tough assignments meeting Grade One performers Footpad and Al Boum Photo along the way. Fifth at Roscommon in a 3m½f handicap two starts ago would give some chance here.

In good form over hurdles this summer and placed in four of his six chases including rallying second over this trip at Galway latest. Upped 3lb for that run but claims here crystal clear in a race lacking many in form rivals.

Won two of four over fences but beaten 46L last time he tackled them at Galway two starts back. Better effort next over hurdles when second taking advantage of much lower mark there but back over fences he is less appealing.

Placed in first three handicap chases but lesser effort after a break latest when fifth of eight at Naas. Capable of being competitive off this mark so chances if that run brings her on.

Veteran has twice won here over the banks and returned to something like form latest over those obstacles when a remote second but had pulled-up twice previously over conventional fences so less appealing here.

13-race maiden has run his best two races the last twice finishing second at Sligo and third at Galway where Se Mo Laoch was a place ahead. 3lb better off with that rival here and very sound claims now.

Latest of five career success came at Leopardstown in March where he narrowly defeated Se Mo Laoch. 7lb rise slowed him the next twice and returns here 1lb worse off with that younger, race fit rival.

SE MO LAOCH has been getting ever closer to an elusive first win over fences and after an excellent second at Galway latest he has the strongest claims in a relatively ordinary handicap. Not far behind him at Galway was Gunfire Reef and Mags Mullins' chaser looks to be on the up of late so is a genuine danger now especially given he is 3lb better off with the selection. Also considered is recent Wexford runner-up Cresus De Grissay who is very unexposed and from a respected stable.
  1. Se Mo Laoch
  2. Gunfire Reef
  3. Cresus De Grissay
