1
Horse silk
7/2
Won with masses in hand at Hexham (2m, soft) last month and although that probably wasn't an overly competitive bumper, he is obviously worthy of respect despite carrying the 7lb winners penalty.
2
Horse silk
200/1
Started 33/1 on debut when finishing a hopelessly tailed-off seventh of eight behind today's rival Mr Scrumpy at Hexham (2m, soft) in October; no chance of a reversal.

40/1
Second foal out of an unraced dam who was a half-sister to the 2m4f hurdle winner Cuteasafox; promising 5L debut third of eight to Honourary Gift (Peter Fahey) at Sedgefield in October; stable saddled a hurdles winner on Saturday.

Clondaw Storm183
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-0| J: David Bass| T: C N Kellett
100/1
Brother to the PTP winner Annie Jordan; sold for £42,000 in May after finishing 10L second to Ask For Glory in a 3m soft ground Bartlemy maiden; market a helpful guide on rules/stable debut.
6
Horse silk
16/1
Milan gelding who fetched €36,000 as a yearling and is from the family of a couple of bumper and hurdles winners. No chance with the winner when finishing 15L second of six on debut at Warwick (2m); non-runner at Sandown on Sunday (going).
7
Horse silk
5/2
Cost €62,000 as a 3yo (£5,000 yearling); third foal, half-brother to the 2m3f-2m4f chase winner Somewhere To Be; based with a competent handler (1-2; 50% at Carlisle); non-runner at Fontwell on Friday (going).

Horse silk
Tarada
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: L P Aspell| T: O Sherwood
6/1
€50,000 yearling; second foal; closely related to the 3m1f hurdle winner Royal Claret out a bumper/hurdle/chase winning dam (Kerada); worthy of close inspection in the early betting exchanges; stable are in-form.
9
Horse silk
150/1
0-4 in PTP's; hooded on debut for Micky Hammond (bought for £2,000 in September); most likely to be a rank outsider.

Horse silk

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: B S Hughes| T: B Ellison
7/4
Knocked down for £90,000 at Cheltenham in November 2017 as the winner of a 3m Portrush maiden for Gavin Cromwell (runner up is now a 126-rated hurdler for Noel Meade); probable contender for powerful owner/trainer/jockey combination.

66/1
Yeats filly (€4,500 foal); dam was an unraced half-sister to the 2m4f-2m6f hurdle winner Couleur France; very stiff task on racecourse debut.

Horse silk
25/1
Bought for £17,000 in August (at Doncaster) as a 6L runner up in a 3m mares maiden at Kinsale (good); started 40/1 on debut over the outer course here last month (2m1f) when a mildly encouraging 8L sixth of 16 to the exciting Mega Yeats.

15:40 Carlisle - 12 November 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A difficult to evaluate bumper where the strongest clues should arrive from the early market exchanges. Likely types on paper include the £90,000 purchase Weakfield (Brian Ellison) and the €50,000 yearling Tarada (Oliver Sherwood). Furthermore, the penalised Mr Scrumpy hacked up at Hexham last month so is worthy of respect in a stronger contest, whilst the likes of Ardglass Star and Splash The Cash are longer-term projects. Without the market as a guide, the tentative advice is the Olly Murphy-trained newcomer I K BRUNEL. He was taken out of a planned engagement at Fontwell on Friday (going) and opts to travel north for debut instead.
  1. I K Brunel
  2. Tarada
  3. Weakfield
