Fair form on the Flat and has taken well to hurdles. Made all to win his penultimate start but found out by under a penalty and more on here. First-time cheekpieces may aid concentration but limitations already exposed.

Average ability on the Flat but made a winning start over hurdles at Huntingdon last month. Did hit a couple of the obstacles but stayed on well near the finish that time. More to come despite the penalty. One for the shortlist.

No impression on debut on the Flat and has been off for a long time and switched yards since. Probably safest to just employ a watching brief.

Rated 86 at his best on the Flat when with Jamie Osborne and showed ability when starting out over hurdles at Ludlow in October. Going the right way and should be suited by the conditions. Can be a player here.
Not much sign of ability on the Flat and a big improvement is required now the gelding switches codes. Hard to see him being good enough first time over hurdles.

Useful on the Flat and made a smooth transition to the winter scene when third in a similar race at Chepstow last month. From a highly respected yard and worth a betting check. Place claims at least.

Won over 1m on the Flat for John Oxx in Ireland and pedigree suggests he'll cope with the step up in trip. Was a 50/1 outsider and never made an impact on debut for his new yard when last seen. Needs to improve for the switch to Jumps.

A maiden after 11 starts on the Flat and comes here after an uninspiring effort on hurdling debut at Uttoxeter last month. Plenty to find and others offer more this time around.

Respectable effort in a bumper at Huntingdon last month and showed enough to suggest he may do well in time. Another step forward required and it's a little early to say that anything more than a speculation betting proposition.

Forecasts

Elysees (4/6), Percy Prosecco (11/4), Carouse (7/1), Bodes Well (11/1), Peloric (14/1), Isaac Wonder (20/1), Caviar Royale (100/1), Keynote (100/1), Carnage (100/1)

It may be worth siding with CAROUSE, who brings a good level of form from the Flat with him and he'll be a tough nut to crack if he can build on what was a decent effort on his hurdling debut last month. Percy Prosecco needs to be a little cleaner and treat the hurdles with a bit more respect but is going the right way is also worth bearing in mind. Bodes Well has ability and can help set a good tempo if he adapts to racing in cheekpieces. He was well held last time out though. Elysees is another on the upgrade and is also worth considering.
  1. Carnage
  2. Percy Prosecco
  3. Bodes Well
