Scored with a bit in hand on first run following wind surgery at Fontwell in March. Didn't find much in follow-up bid, at Taunton, but fairly treated on switch back to fences if putting his best foot forward.

Won twice over fences in the spring at around this trip, but let down by his jumping on return at Uttoxeter last month, and needs to cut out the errors if he's to score here.

His Exeter win (2m3f, soft) by 5L from a 1lb lower mark in December reads well, but he's not been in quite the same form since, even allowing for the fact that Catterick might have been too sharp when last seen. Must bounce back after a break.

Made it two wins from five starts over fences when scoring narrowly under this jockey at Sandown in January, but that race didn't work out, and he struggled to make any impact at Ascot later that month.

Rounded off last season with a good win over 2m4f at Sandown, and possible to forgive his run at Chepstow last month when trying a new trip. Should do better now, and not dismissed.

Kapcorse201
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: B J Geraghty| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  128| D

Impressive-looking gelding, and left modest hurdles form behind when winning easily on chase debut at Bangor in April, and remains open to plenty of improvement in this sphere.
7
Horse silk
Greybougg209
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-3| J: C Gethings| T: N J Hawke| OR:  126| D
33/1
Successful off a 3lb lower mark in a novices' handicap chase at Uttoxeter in April 2017, but that is his only win over fences, and pulled up in Topham Chase at Aintree in April. Well beaten when unseating in this race 12 months ago.

Horse silk
Red Devil Start201
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-1| J: Jack Sherwood(3)| T: Miss S Smith| OR:  124| BF
33/1
Won a weak handicap chase at Market Rasen in the spring, and just a respectable 11L third on final outing, which suggests he will struggle on this return to action.
9
Horse silk
Siruh Du Lac280
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Lizzie Kelly(3)| T: Nick Williams| OR:  123| D
7/1
Disappointed on final start, but looked a young chaser to follow when winning handicaps at Bangor and Exeter last winter. Type to progress further this year, and starts out on a workable mark.

Horse silk
Dream Bolt7
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-13| J: James Bowen| T: D A Rees| OR:  122| D
10/1
Put up a couple of creditable performances at Stratford this autumn, and did well under exaggerated waiting tactics last time. Well treated, for all he's been hard to catch right in recent times.

Horse silk
Thomas Crapperp186
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-12| J: C Poste| T: R Dickin| OR:  121| CD

Grand servant to the yard, but despite a win operation in the spring, his form took a downward turn last season. Yard struggling for winners at present, and easy enough to leave him alone now.

Major Hindrance214
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: James Davies| T: Henry Oliver| OR:  121
50/1
Victorious over 2m3f at Exeter (heavy) in January and finished runner-up twice over 2m4f since. Ended last season out of sorts, however, and yard not in the best of form ahead of return.

Horse silk
Zamparellip,t8
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-7| J: Bridget Andrews| T: D Skelton| OR:  116
10/1
Back-to-back wins over shorter distances earlier in the year and the handicapper has hit him with an 18lb hike in the weights. Seems to have reached his limit based on recent results, although travelled well for a long way at Fakenham last time.

Forecasts

Kapcorse (11/4), Silverhow (9/2), Siruh Du Lac (7/1), De Dollar Man (7/1), Dream Bolt (10/1), Zamparelli (10/1), Chef D'Equipe (12/1), Thomas Crapper (16/1), Ballyarthur (20/1), Red Devil Star (33/1), Greybougg (33/1), Dicosimo (33/1), Major Hindrance (50/1)

15:30 Newbury - 8 November 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

KAPCORSE is still a little rough around the edges, but he already looks a much better chaser than hurdler, and will progress further as he gains experience. Siruh du Lac is essentially progressive, and can be forgiven his latest run, so it would be no surprise to see him run a big race on just his fifth start over fences. Dream Bolt is a bit longer in the tooth, but caught the eye last time, and is capable of a big run.
