C&D winner who was a Flat winner just over a year ago and shaped well when returning over hurdles last month behind an improving sort in that sphere. Has looked a quirky sort in the past and not certain to go on from that run.
Lightly-raced sort who makes her handicap debut having always looked the sort to be better now she starts life in this sphere with a reasonable mark. Has looked capable of better and one to note in the market for this.
Caused a surprise when winning on her hurdles debut (race rather fell apart) having been disappointing when well found in the market for her sole bumper outing (finished 5th). Hard to know what to make of that form; makes her handicap debut.
Modest sort who used to be with Neil Mulholland but offered little for her new yard on her first outing for them last month. That was in a better grade though and she is a course winner on the Flat here; never won a handicap hurdle.
Back over hurdles having won a handicap chase (2m6f) at Uttoxeter on his penultimate outing before being pulled up last time. Given a break this will be his first appearance in a handicap over hurdles; remains 5lb above his chase winning mark.
Not a surprise to see this one leave some below-par efforts behind from his novice hurdles when switched to this sphere after a break at Stratford. Took the runner-up spot there behind a subsequent winner and just raised 3lb here; definite chance.
In good form returning from a break to take a Worcester handicap chase in June (given a chance by the handicapper); produced a solid effort under a penalty. Fell last time out (jumped poorly) and now returns to hurdles off the same mark.
The majority of his hurdles form is modest with one standout record on his CV (3rd to the 126-rated Show On The Road); well below form when last seen at Wincanton. Returns from wind surgery but with something to prove still.
Hooded for the first time and comes here off the back of a pulled up effort in the summer. Takes another fall in the weights for that last time out effort but hard to construct a solid case for him on recent form.
Showed his first form when coming back from a break to win over hurdles at Towcester (2m3f, heavy) and then following up on his chase debut over a slightly short trip. In decent heart on his one outing since; returns from break and not discounted.
Did well on his final run for his now retired trainer (Martin Hill) and debuts for a new yard today off the back of that sound effort at Newton Abbot. Useful conditional takes off 10lb and not hard to see him going close here off a 4lb higher mark.
Had the look of one who may burst into life in handicaps (decent pedigree) and his last two runs have to a certain extent kept that thought alive. Unseated in his penultimate start (travelled well) and 2nd to a well handicapped one last time.
Encouragement can be drawn from his last two starts and the handicapper has taken a chance leaving him on the same mark of 84. Could well be worth looking at given a chance over further but not to be ignored in this contest.
Fairly lightly-raced for one of his age and he has shown a little ability in four runs for this yard although he remains a maiden. Made some late headway in his latest start but likely to find several too good here.
Can look a hard ride who despite being a C&D winner and being on his best behaviour when winning at Taunton (2m, heavy) in the spring has since reverted to type. Looked moody when last seen and not one to trust in this back off a break.
Did finish runner-up in a bumper on her second start but that wouldn't be a strong piece of form and she's looked rather limited over hurdles since. Tried over a longer trip (3m) and in first-time blinkers last time to no avail; best watched.
Sent chasing last time he was seen at the end of 2017 and showed very little ability in that sphere. Now reverts to hurdles having shown next to nothing over the smaller obstacles before.

A competitive if low-grade opener to the card with the handicapper having to have had a bit of a guess at the handicap mark for Kapga De Lily and she could be well weighted for this off 100. Slaying The Dragon makes his first outing for Nigel Hawke and a repeat of his Newton Abbot second would see him go close here with Maratt and Newquay Cards two more interesting sorts at this level. Better News is expected to show more now that she moves into handicaps and a market move would be worth noting. HEAD LAD ran into one in good form at Stratford last time when making a marked improvement in his previous outings and with a top conditional taking the ride he’s given the vote.
