Gets the drop in class that he probably needs to be successful again having taken a Salisbury maiden (1m4f, heavy) in April. His 5th at York last time (never dangerous) is a better guide to his ability and he should appreciate the trip here.
Soft conditions appear to suit him well (both juvenile wins on heavy); underlined that fact with a 2nd at Ayr on his penultimate start off a break. Ran no sort of race at York last time (Billy Ray 5th) on quicker ground; return to soft will suit him.
Has scored on three occasions this year over progressively longer trips but all those wins have come on a much quicker surface. Failed to handle heavy conditions over 1m6f last time at Haydock and that leaves question marks over her here.
Built on the earlier promise that he showed when taking an AW novice over 1m5f but failed to back that up on his handicap debut (beaten at odds-on). Ran poorly again back down in trip on the AW; now hooded (first-time) back on turf with a bit to prov
Produced a career-best performance on her first try on the AW (looked perfectly at home) over 1m4f. Now back on turf (2-14) off a 2lb higher mark but question marks as to whether she can repeat that AW run.
Opened his account last month showing improved form when scoring over 1m4f at Haydock. Could have more to offer now that he's off the mark but needs to raise his game to score again in this higher grade.
Dual winner over C&D in August on a quicker surface than he'll face this time around plus this is a tougher grade (failed in this company before). Had the run of the race here last time over C&D; needs things to fall his way to resume winning ways.

Bill Cody has a fine record over C&D (112) but that record has been compiled in lower grade than he’ll face today and a place may be the best that he can hope for. Amazing Michele won with some authority at Newcastle last time but she has to now prove that she can repeat that performance back on turf. Ground conditions remain a question mark for Sea Youmzain with Nuits St George needing to prove himself in this grade. The top two in the weights both look as though they will be suited by this surface with Wax And Wane respected but BILLY RAY has shown form in better class than this and his York run signals his ability to win a race such as this.
