Cost 35,000 gns, an unraced half-brother to winners between 7f up to an extended 1m2f. Appeals on pedigree but yard struggling for winners after a purple patch earlier in the campaign. Might just need the experience.

10/1
Acclamation colt, cost €44,000 as a foal and £50,000 as a yearling. Promising debut was followed by a tough ask in a French Group 2. Didn't seem to handle soft ground there and drying conditions would be a bonus.

Horse silk

Recovered after a slow start to show some promise on debut but failed to build on that on his second start. Needs to find big improvement.

12/1
Son of Zoffany who cost €41,000 as a foal and £30,000 as a yearling. Has speed in pedigree but stable's debutantes tend to improve for the run.
Gelded son of Born To Sea who fetched 32,000 gns as a foal and 40,000 gns as a yearling. Makes debut for stable who could be in better form and likely to need further in time.

Cost €26,000 as a yearling and has speed in pedigree. Stable hasn't had usual strength in juvenile ranks this season but worth a check in the market on debut.

10/3
Well-bred Shamardal colt, cost 500,000 gns as a yearling. Improved nicely from debut when second at Salisbury and drying ground may help. Time backed up performance and looks a winner waiting to happen.

Son of Showcasing with plenty of speed in pedigree. Cost 75,000 gns as a yearling and rose to 100,000 gns as a juvenile. Stable has won this twice in the last six years and looks a likely type on debut.

Son of Havana Gold sold for 50,000 gns as a yearling last October. Overcame problems at the start for an eye-catching finish when second on debut over 7f here, pulling clear of the third. Likely to improve and if so could be the one to beat.

The debut of Amplify arguably sets the standard in an interesting maiden and if the ground dries out he probably has plenty more to come after being highly tried on his second start. Lyndon B ran really well on debut and looks the type to only improve while Monsieur Noir ran second in a fast run race on his second start and could easily have got the pick. However considering the problems he had with a slow start and interference the debut of PHOSPHOR was hugely promising and he gets the narrow verdict. Montatham stands out as the most likely debutante.
  1. Phosphor
  2. Monsieur Noir
  3. Amplify
