Best effort when a modest fifth of 8 behind Alexa Rose over 7f here on penultimate start, and plugged on without threatening when mid-field at Chelmsford last time. Cheekpieces tried for nursery debut, and needs to do more.

Well held on first start in a nursery at Salisbury, but improved when winning 7f contest here from Rajman, with that pair dominating throughout. Should stay 1m, but 7lb rise demands further progress.

Took a step forward from his debut to finish fifth of 10 at Wolverhampton, and then unsuited by drop in trip at Ripon last time. Type to improve in handicaps, and considered.

Now 3lb lower than when third of 13 in a 1m nursery at Chelmsford last month, but not in same for since, and ran poorly when tried in blinkers at Wolverhampton last time. Visored now, and caution advised.

Bred to stay, so did well to make the frame on first two starts over 5f. Failed to improve after a break on nursery debut over C&D last time, but better than result after meeting trouble, and remains one to keep on side at this level.

Bred to be sharp, but hasn't pulled up any trees to date, and just a respectable 7¾L sixth of 10 to Hostess in a 7f novice at Chelmsford last time. Not certain to do better over this trip.

Pretty consistent on balance over 5f/6f, although flopped on nursery debut at Leicester in August. Back to form when fourth of 10 to Capla Gilda in 6f nursery at Wolverhampton last time, but no sign she's crying out for this trip.

Just poor form in three qualifying runs in the summer, but gelded and given a break since last of those, and yard tends to be patient with its juveniles, so improvement likely now handicapping, and market useful.

Landed a 7f Newmarket seller in August having broken on terms for the first time, but again slow to stride when below form in a C&D nursery on her latest start, and risky once more.

Full-brother to useful 2-y-o 1m winner Magic Dancer, and improved on earlier efforts when clear second in an extended 1m Leicester nursery a week ago. Looks ahead of his mark on that evidence, and leading claims.

Only form to speak of when third of 7 in a 7f maiden at Salisbury in August. That race doesn't look the most solid, and she failed badly to confirm that apparent improvement last time.

Has shown some ability in two AW outings at 7f, but opening mark harsh on balance. Even so, more to her poor effort on nursery bow than that, and this outing should reveal more.

Highly tried in qualifying, beating only a couple of rivals, but more competitive when tried in a C&D nursery last time, finishing third behind easy winner First Thought. May do better with benefit of that experience.

Not beaten that far at Newbury on second start, but hard to call that form solid, and she's not matched in two starts since, running poorly on handicap debut at Ffos Las in September. Steps up markedly in trip now.

Forecasts

Royal Dancer (11/4), Swan Street (7/1), Purgatory (7/1), Waltzing Belle (8/1), Um Shama (8/1), Djibouti (8/1), Symphony (10/1), Padura Brave (14/1), Miss Vixen (16/1), Trelinney (20/1), Cauthen (25/1), My Maharani (50/1), Corinthian Star (50/1), Sonnetina (100/1)

17:40 Kempton - 23 October 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

ROYAL DANCER looks a rock-solid selection after showing improved form on his nursery bow at Leicester, pulling well clear with another improver. He's sure to be higher in the handicap when reassessed, and can make the most of his window of opportunity. Um Shama will be suited by this trip and didn't get a chance to show that after meeting traffic over C&D last time. She's feared most ahead of handicap debutant Cauthen, who has a bit to find on form, but will benefit from a return to further after finding 6f too sharp last time.
  1. Royal Dancer
  2. Um Shama
  3. Cauthen
