Produced his best effort since going handicapping over hurdles when an 8L winner of a 0-105 at Worcester (2m4f, good) last time out. Step up in trip on this stiffer track, plus an 8lb rise won't make this easy, but enters calculations.

Won a Towcester maiden hurdle (2m3f, good to firm) in May. Well held in novice events under penalties on both subsequent runs. Pulled up in only previous handicap and drops 3lb going back into this sphere. Bit to prove.

Last of his four wins came in the summer of 2016, over this trip at Market Rasen (good). 11lb lower now and not showing enough of late to have a huge amount of confidence in him, even from this mark.

Dual Irish chase winner in 2016 at up to 3m1f (both good). Well held in his only run in a maiden hurdle. Out of sorts in four of five runs this year, including stable debut last time out. Looks best watched at present.

Scored over a similar trip at Uttoxeter 13-months ago (good to soft), when 3lb lower. Handles fast ground. Beaten 23L in this year's renewal of that same Uttoxeter race, when 3lb higher last time, but 10lb claim makes him interesting.

Forecasts

Bradford Bridge (1/1), Aristocracy (15/8), Kalifourchon (4/1), Take Em Out (16/1), Tiger Sam (100/1)

Plenty of questions to be answered here for all five contestants. Bradford Bridge is probably a reasonably solid option, but an 8lb rise and this longer trip will make things tougher for him and it might be worth chancing ARISTOCRACY, who also has a bit to prove, but who stays well, acts on the ground and has a very useful 10lb claim. The relatively unexposed Take Em Out could prove next best.
  1. Aristocracy
  2. Bradford Bridge
  3. Take Em Out
