Entitled to have needed both of his recent runs (off the track for 12 months prior), so surprising to see the handicapper loosening his grip (dropped 6lb) so quickly; shorter trip more suitable; of interest if market support arrives.

Nine-race maiden; runner up to Get Back Get Back over an extended mile here last month (third placed Momentarily runs at Newcastle on Wednesday); should make a bold bid to go one better now reverting to the AW.

Back on the AW for the first time since May 2017, and slowly slipping back to a more winnable looking handicap mark; midfield finish after throwing down a strong challenge (weakened) over 1m2f at Redcar 12 days ago; chance.

Course winner (1m+) off a 5lb lower mark last month, beating 50/1 shot Toriano by 1½L; latest placed effort could receive a timely boost by the winner New Orleans (runs at Newcastle on Wednesday); stamina reservations.

Twice placed during August (1m), but slowly into stride on handicap debut over C&D last month, and didn't offer a great deal to work upon for the future; still early days but rapid improvement is required.

150,000gns (vendor) yearling; half-brother to the 1m2f-1m3f winner Almodovar; modest since introduced to handicapping (has fallen 8lb); 25/1 when finishing a never competitive eighth of 12 to Goodwood Showman at Kempton (1m) last month.

Appenzeller24
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Finley Marsh(5)| T: R Hughes| OR:  65
5/1
Seven-race maiden; runner up (beaten 11/8f) over C&D in an apprentices handicap in April, and would have a shout on that form; possibly better for a recent run over 1m at Kempton (first outing since early May).

35,000gns juvenile; half-brother to US dirt (6f+) and AW (1m) winner Slobberknocker; best run so far came when finishing just over 3L second to Althaaqib on debut at Lingfield (1m maiden) in July; back on the AW for handicap bow.

25/1
15-race AW maiden, albeit twice narrowly denied from slightly higher marks over C&D earlier this year; viable trip (1m4f) and fitness excuses the past twice; needs to be considered.

21:00 Wolverhampton - 18 October 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

An open finale with any number of the runners in with a shout if electing to forgive (or excuse) some recent efforts. Perceived is fairly well treated and back over a more suitable trip, with very similar comments also applicable to the topweight Sunglider. Appenzeller and Jawshan are young horses who are probably capable of better, with the latter in particular of interest on handicap debut, whilst the filly Raven's Raft has already proved to be a shrewd claim at £3,000 from Michael Appleby. However, the tentative value based shout is PUNKAWALLAH who was better than the bare result at Redcar (1m2f) and returns to the AW on a winnable looking mark.
