Grand sort who has come down the weights having struggled last term as he entered the veteran stage. Not out of it on pick of his form but wouldn't want the ground too soft on first start back.
Been a useful staying handicap chaser over the years and has a chance at the weights if finding his old form. Unseated when weakening in Kerry National at Listowel last month but should strip fitter and is respected.
Goes very well fresh and ran with credit when third here in December 2016 on only previous visit to this venue. Yard a little quiet but may not be at all far away.
Two confidence boosting successes in novice chases of late but may find this a very different kettle of fish. Has lots of ability and represents top yard but jumping could be tested to the limit at this level.
Stays very well and revels in the mud but hasn't shown a great deal in two starts so far this campaign. Dropped 2lb since last poor effort and hopes may well rest on the skies really opening.
Hasn't scored since London National at Sandown in 2015 although ran a blinder when second in 2016 Hennessy Gold Cup. Fifth in top staying handicap chase at Sandown in April but is inconsistent and others make mroe appeal.
Won this race two years ago off 13lb higher mark and was fair fourth in this event 12 months ago to Bob Ford. Not getting any younger but does go well fresh and may not be far away once again.
Ran on bravely to score at Market Rasen a couple of weeks ago over 2m5f but has yet to win over this far. 7lb rise makes life tough in this grade and may find a few too good for him.
Been a fair performer in his time and ended last term with two wins. Returned following wind surgery this summer to run a good second over hurldes at Newton Abbot recently. Is feasibly handicapped so bold show cannot be ruled out.
Tremendous old timer who hasn't won for nearly five years but has since been placed in two Grand Nationals and two Scottish Nationals. Trip may be too sharp for him on seasonal return and forecast rain is a big concern.
4lb higher than his win in this race 12 months ago but subsequently struggled to find his form. Goes very well fresh though and likely to have been trained with a repeat bid in mind so has to be one for the short list.
Landed hat-trick in early 2017 (including C&D) for Paul Morgan but struggled since over both hurdles and fences. Returns after seven month absence and may be better for the outing.
Won over three miles at Ludlow in April off 9lb lower makr and seems best on decent ground, so forecast rain is a concern. Yard hasn't got going yet this autumn so others are much preferred.

A well contested veterans handicap chase and a chance for last year's winner BOB FORD to repeat the feat off a 4lb higher mark. He goes very well first time out. On Tour is another who tends to run well after a break and won't be far away, and it's a similar tale for the 2016 winner Double Ross. Beat That is interesting but this is tougher than his recent successes, while Carole's Destrier, King's Lad and Bishops Road are all capable if in the mood.
