Both nursery wins have come on a sound surface, and respected after making all at Newmarket last time, but he did disappoint on rain-softened ground there in July, and easing ground tempers confidence slightly.
Gained back-ton-back wins in novice events around 1m in August, but has found life tougher since, and only seventh in a similar event at Newmarket last time. Dropped 2lb for that, but may need more.
Has improved with each start, winning at Wolverhampton prior to a creditable fifth of 18 to Barbill in valuable sales race at the Curragh last time. Not badly treated on that form, and promises to improve at 1m.
Runner-up in a nursery at Chelmsford in July, but well below that form in similar events since. Handicapper has given him a chance, and he did a little better at Kempton last time, but he's still got something to prove.
Came wide to win over 7f on debut at Thirsk, with Divinity behind, but that form was reversed at Nottingham, and she was again a bit underwhelming at former track on latest start. May be flattered by that winning start.
Belied big odds when an improved fourth over 6f at Thirsk two starts back, and confirmed that promise when ¾L second of 12 to Jackamundo on nursery debut at Redcar (7f) last time. Bred to stay at least this far, so one to consider up in trip.
Won a 1m novice at Haydock last month, and better than the result when 1½L second of 6 to Illusions in nursery at Pontefract last time, making a big move having been slow to stride. Folly to ignore on that evidence.

LOLA'S THEME caught the eye when second at Pontefract on nursery bow, and if she can avoid a repeat of her slow start there, she should go close from what looks a very fair mark. Self Assessment isn't the pick of Karl Burke's duo on jockey bookings, but is open to improvement at this trip, and is one to keep on side, while Irv is going the right way, and isn't easily ruled out with this trip likely to suit. Even Keel would have obvious claims if the rain doesn't get into the ground, but might struggle if it came up testing.
