100,000gns son of prolific sire Dark Angel is a half-brother to five winners including 7f two-year-old Group Three scorer Luminous Eyes. Trainer has a few first time out winners but not necessarily in great form at present.

€300,000 yearling by Lope De Vega is the first foal out of a 1m2f-1m4f Group Three winning dam. Trainer three from 17 with two-year-olds this year so worth a check on the market given his attractive pedigree.

Elusive City colt could never get involved on debut at Newbury over 7f where he finished 10th of 14. Yard's two-year-olds often take big step forward on second start but needs to do so to be involved.

Son of top two-year-old sire Kodiac was fifth on debut at Ffos Las and could only fill the same slot next at Beverley. Both starts to date over 7½f and not seen the trip out strongly so step up not sure to suit either.

€500,000 purchase by Dabirsim was well fancied on debut at Ffos Las over 7½f but having been slow into stride he could never get involved (seventh of eight). Disappointing if he doesn't leave that run behind now.

Unraced son of Data Link cost 47,000gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to two US turf winners over 1m and 1m2f. Trainer's two-year-olds invariably need time to prosper so watching brief recommended.

Cheap purchase related to numerous sprint winners but showed little pace on debut when last of 10 at Lingfield on debut last month. Huge step forward needed.

Stoutly bred son of Australia was always in rear on debut at Kempton (AW) over 7f last month eventually finishing sixth of eight. Should enjoy extra 1f here and benefit for the experience but still plenty to do.

Kodiac colt showed promise on debut at Leicester over 7f where he kept on at the one pace for fourth of 11. Extra 1f should suit well and with improvement to be expected he has to be considered here.

Improved on remote debut at Lingfield when midfield latest at Salisbury. More improvement needed to do any better than sixth he managed there and others have more scope.

Le Havre colt made an eye-catching debut at Sandown last month where he was boxed in between 2f and 1f out before keeping on well for third, only beaten 1L. That effort the standout piece of form so looks the one to beat here.

Forecasts

Surrey Thunder (4/5), Reeth (5/2), Asad (10/1), Good Birthday (14/1), Land Of Oz (20/1), Fenjal (25/1), Antidote (28/1), Sea Art (33/1), Bader (33/1), Homesick Boy (80/1), Indian Copper (100/1)

14:25 Windsor - 8 October 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

SURREY THUNDER ran with great credit on debut and with better luck in running he would have gone even closer so he has very strong claims here. Reeth also ran well on debut when finishing fourth and he rates the main danger for the all-conquering John Gosden yard. Asad makes the most appeal of the newcomers and any market support should be noted.
  1. Surrey Thunder
  2. Reeth
  3. Asad
