Much improved in second start at Newbury where he battled to success over 7f having made just about all of the running and the front two pulled clear there. 7lb penalty for that win and tackling an extra 1f but remains a leading contender.

Improved on a pair of fourths latest when only beaten ¾L into second at Sandown over 1m. That effort surely gives him a leading chance and yard have a 43 per cent strike rate here so his claims look crystal clear.

Authorized colt pulled far too hard and ran greenly before paying the price when down the field on debut at Newmarket in August. Given time since so hopefully can settle better and holds a Derby entry so must show some ability at home.

80/1 and beaten 14½L on debut over 7f at Yarmouth where he was 14th of 15. Can only improve for the run but hard to see him being better than midfield nevertheless.

Newcomer by Swiss Spirit is a half-brother to three winners from 5f-1m3f out of a dam placed over 1m2f. Trip should suit well enough debut winners from this yard few and far between so best watched.

Couldn't land a blow on debut at Ascot but much better latest at Leicester where he was only beaten 3½L over 7f, finishing fourth of ten. By Nathaniel so should not only stay but improve for 1m so merits consideration here.

Stoutly bred Soldier Hollow colt hasn't got competitive in two starts at Kempton (ninth) and Salisbury (eighth) so far, both over 1m. Likely the sort for middle or even staying distances next year.

Kept on well on debut at Sandown over 7f into sixth of 11 but couldn't build on that next at Salisbury where he weakened into eighth of nine. Had a break since and looks the sort to do better in handicaps.

Kept on well after a slow start on debut at Newbury (7f) where he was a 5½L fifth of 13. Bred to stay middle distances on both sides of pedigree so should appreciate step up to 1m and every chance he goes close now.

Alhebayeb gelding was seventh on debut at Salisbury over 6f and filled the same position next over 7f at Chester. Much improvement needed and far from certain he appreciates 1m.

100/1 and down the field in three starts, the latest beaten 24L. Huge price likely again and rightly so.

Forecasts

Damon Runyon (7/4), Shoot For Gold (2/1), Politicise (7/2), Emirates Empire (7/1), God Has Given (16/1), Gin Palace (50/1), Sephton (50/1), Ernest Aldrich (66/1), Queen's Soldier (80/1), Trouble Shooter (100/1), The Grey Dancer (100/1)

DAMON RUNYAN can take advantage of a 7lb receipt from main rival Politicise and further boost John Gosden's excellent strike rate here after a good second last time out where he showed an improved level of form. Politicise does set a good standard despite the penalty and should have no problems going up to 1m. Shoot For Gold is an interesting sort after a debut where there were clear signs of potential.
