11/10
91-rated Flat winner, well held in one start for Venetia Williams. Promising run on stable debut was followed by a disappointing run at Galway when looking to struggle when third of eight last month. Will have supporters but no good thing.

14/1
Plenty to like about his second of 16 beaten 1¾L in a Roscommon maiden hurdle in July but is generally inconsistent and difficult to trust. Others preferred.
3
Horse silk
Thermistocles222
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mark Walsh| T: J P O'Brien| CD
4/1
Course winner that has also won over the trip, albeit in a 14-runner bumper over 12-months ago. Inconsistent in three runs over hurdles and well beaten when last seen in February.
4
Horse silk
Advena32
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: C J Orr(7)| T: G O'Loughlin
100/1
No impression from 3f out in a Bellewstown bumper when last seen in August. Best watched on hurdling bow.
Gelding by Robin De Pres out of a Un Desperado mare. Half-brother to Petit Robin, Panjo Bere and Vive Le Roi, a winner at Stratford last month. Never a factor from half-way on debut at Galway two weeks ago.
6
Horse silk
100/1
Nothing of note in four dismal career efforts to date and unlikely to play a part in the finish here.
7
Horse silk
100/1
Mustameet gelding is a half-brother to modest hurdler Doc Hollywood and hurdles winner Lisclogher Lad. Always in rear and hurdling left a lot to be desired on Navan debut last month. Likely to struggle here.

Horse silk
Lord In Redt24
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-4| J: J M Moore| T: N Meade| OR:  109
10/1
Drop in distance appeared to have the desired effect when finishing third of 13 behind the promising Silver Start at Kilbeggan last month. Likely to improve and worth considering.
9
Horse silk
Ozzie's Wayt14
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: D G Hogan| T: D Hogan| OR:  112
11/2
Four-race maiden hurdler but has shown plenty of promise on each occasion including when second of eight 1½L adrift of Presentingprincess at Galway last month. Likely sort on paper.
Inconsistent form in a number of bumper appearances following a fall on hurdling debut at Gowran Park 12-months ago makes the gelding hard to support here.

Serious Ego83
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott
9/1
Sholokhov gelding that cost €50,000. Won a point-to-point on only second run in that sphere in April. Promising third of 16 beaten a little over 4L in a Roscommon maiden hurdle when last seen in July. Dangerous if building on last appearance.
12
Horse silk
50/1
Stowaway gelding. Dam an above average hurdler, winner at 2m-2m4f over hurdles/chase. Well down the field when beaten 53L on hurdling introduction in a Listowel maiden last month. Others look open to more improvement.
13
Horse silk
100/1
Beneficial gelding out of a Glacial Storm mare. Never a factor beaten from the sixth on disastrous debut at Listowel last month. Others preferred.
14
Horse silk
Trissino86
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: M F Mooney| T: Mrs A Mooney
100/1
Nothing taken from either start over timber so far to suggest that the Fastnet Rock gelding will be making a big impact here.
15
Horse silk
33/1
Will have disappointed connections in a number of below-par bumper performances over the summer. Hard to make a case for on hurdling graduation.
16
Horse silk
Madaboy Cross41
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-11| J: K J Brouder(7)| T: T P O'Connor| OR:  84
33/1
Slowly improving with each start on the back of a three-year absence. Much better effort at Sligo and capable of getting involved if backing that up.
17
Horse silk
Native Place19
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-11| J: A E Lynch| T: V T O'Brien
100/1
Failed to complete four times in point-to-points and was last of 13 when tailed off on hurdling debut at Listowel last month.

15:40 Roscommon - 1 October 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Being always close to the early pace may help the cause of OZZIE'S WAY who has shown plenty of promise on each of his four maiden hurdle starts to date. The Denis Hogan-trained gelding can out-point the Willie Mullins-trained Kaatskill Nap who has jumped big and awkward at his obstacles in the past. The Oscar gelding Thermistocles is worthy of consideration while the Gordon Elliott-trained Serious Ego can improve on his third here in July and hit the frame.
  1. Ozzie's Way
  2. Kaatskill Nap
  3. Serious Ego
