5/1
45,000gns yearling; difficult to pick too many holes in his overall form profile (7f course winner), but he's penalised for that success, is tackling 1m for the first-time and his run style (leads) will always make him vulnerable.

Forecasts

Cap Francais (3/1), Red Centre (10/3), Island Jungle (5/1), Drogon (5/1), Oak Park (15/2), Prefontaine (14/1), Kingson (14/1), Fabriano (16/1), Bullington Boy (33/1), Forneus (40/1), My Strong Man (50/1)

14:40 Haydock - 29 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Odds-on Salisbury winner Cap Francais sets the benchmark for the others to aim towards, and he's fully respected. However, in a race which features a number of expensively purchased (and well bred) juveniles, he can be taken on because of the softer conditions underfoot. Roger Varian is doubly-represented with Fabriano and Prefontaine, whilst the ever feared John Gosden sends Red Centre north for his racecourse debut. However, a real chance is taken on the Karl Burke-trained OAK PARK who should be an awful lot wiser for his first sight of a racecourse at Carlisle, and he could represent some sporting each-way value in an open looking novice.
  1. Oak Park
  2. Red Centre
  3. Cap Francais
