Very difficult to make any sort of a legitimate case of the colt after he was pulled up in a bumper and beaten out of sight in both his previous starts on the Flat. Best left to his own devices for now.
A half-brother to a 7f winner as a two-year-old but his dam was a Listed race winner at 1m2f, so sound claims in pedigree. From a top yard that is likely to have him primed for this belated racecourse debut. Serious contender if he has the ability.

Formerly-owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum, the gelding achieved a rating of 76 (already been dropped 1lb) after eight previous starts. Acted well on soft ground when he raced in France as a juvenile but already exposed. Needs to better his latest start.

Well-bred filly (a half-sister to the high-class Camelot), who made a pleasing debut at Windsor last month. Open to stacks of improvement, the filly gets a handy allowance and would be dangerous to overlook.

Forecasts

Charles Kingsley (1/1), Athary (7/4), Thawry (7/2), Admiral Anson (50/1)

17:30 Beverley - 25 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A half-sister to 2000 Guineas and Derby winner Camelot, there is no escaping the fact that better might be expected from ATHARY now she has the benefit of a run behind her. The ground is a bit of an unknown, so a market check is probably a safe guide to follow. Charles Kingsley is another well-related individual that makes his debut at a modest level. He looks the best alternative. Thawry sets what standard there is for the time being and is taken to brush aside Admiral Anson in what may turn out to be a match-bet of their own.
  1. Athary
  2. Charles Kingsley
  3. Thawry
