The Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes was beyond her capabilities latest, but she ran well enough prior to that in a fillies conditions race at Kempton (7f); hood applied, but perhaps ideally best suited by rain.

Below-par in blinkers the past twice (now discarded), but was comfortably on top of three other rivals when scoring at Brighton in August (7f, good to firm); needs to bounce back; past course winner (6f, £150,000 juvenile auction).

Won just once in ten starts (7f), but is a progressive filly; neck runner-up to Victory Wave on the July Course (7f, good to soft) mid-summer, and only run down late (25/1) in a Class 2 1m Ascot fillies handicap latest.

Has done the bulk of her racing (in handicaps) on the AW, so difficult to assess her capabilities on turf; beaten just over 2L (fourth) on her first start since April at Chelmsford (1m) 23-days ago.

Forecasts

Amandine (13/8), Highland Pass (11/4), Elysium Dream (9/2), Jousi (5/1), Forward Thinker (6/1), Wicker (9/1)

15:20 Newmarket - 22 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The waters are muddied a fraction with the progressive Forward Thinker also holding an engagement at Newcastle on Friday (7.50pm), but it's highly unlikely that she'll be asked to take in both races. However, the form horse is her stablemate AMANDINE who was only run down late in a Class 2 1m fillies handicap at Ascot. A repeat of that fine effort in a lower grade race (Class 3) would make her the horse that the others must beat.
  1. Amandine
  2. Highland Pass
  3. Jousi
