Has shaped well in three of his four races in this grade including a C&D success. Out of his depth last time on return from a break but can be expected to come on for the run.

Took this 12 months ago off 6lb lower. Would appreciate rain and current handicap mark continues has previously been beyond him.

Tough and consistent sort for whom cheekpieces helped him find a bit extra to score at Stratford. A 5lb rise for that narrow victory will make it a lot harder to follow up

Some of his best performances have come here, but he has been below his best for a while. As a result it is hard to see him capitalising on the opportunity presented to him here.

Record of 2-30 and no win for two years, but he has been knocking at the door over C&D this summer and he will not be far away again.

Western Sunrise46
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-10| J: N D Fehily| T: J Farrelly| OR:  108| C
5/2
Only win in 21 starts came here over 2m1f but she was only just touched off over C&D on last completed start. The winner went close in better company next time so current mark may be manageable.

Age: 10|  Weight: 11-6| J: T Scudamore| T: W S Kittow| OR:  104| CD

Has C&D winning form off a higher mark but he has been inconsistent in the 15 months since.

Flying Verset,v124
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: David Bass| T: David Dennis| OR:  103

Has won twice at Southwell this year and has proved far less effective elsewhere. Visor tried this time and any rain would be an additional problem.

Horse silk
Hoover Feverb111
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-11| J: Ben Godfrey(10)| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  97
40/1
Has done nothing to justify his current handicap mark. Connections will be hoping blinkers and a longer trip help bridge the gap.

Forecasts

Western Sunrise (5/2), Guerrilla Tactics (3/1), Tea Time Fred (4/1), Cleni Wells (7/1), Gamain (10/1), Flying Verse (11/1), Our Folly (12/1), Night Generation (12/1), Hoover Fever (40/1)

16:55 Newton Abbot - 21 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Gamain took this 12 months ago and although this mark has been tough to crack previously, the lack of viable competition may help him overcome the problem. Western Sunrise appeals on the basis of her recent C&D effort although that came in a slowly run affair and rain may test her stamina. Cleni Wells and Flying Verse have claims if rebounding from disappointing efforts, whilst Night Generation is conceding plenty of weight. As a result it may pay to go with TEA TIME FRED who handles any ground, goes well over C&D and has been running consistently well off similar marks.
  1. Tea Time Fred
  2. Gamain
  3. Western Sunrise
