1m6f Listed winner last season for Sir Michael Stoute won first time out on stable debut at Goodwood over same trip. Ran well again next when second in 2m Listed race but lesser effort since and this trip on the sharp side these days.
Raised 5lb for 1m4f York success in July but ran well in two races since with fifth of 13 at Goodwood and fourth of 18 at York latest. Handicapper adds another 1lb so remains a stiff task at present.
Dual winner for David Lanigan left behind three poor starts for this stable (two over hurdles) when a 16/1 winner over 1m5½f at Chelmsford latest on the AW. Career high mark as a result so life considerably tougher now.
Does most of his racing over 1m2f and twice won over that distance although over a year since most recent. Pretty consistent this season but handicapper taken a dim view so mark still high enough and this trip raises doubts.
Three time 1m2f winner this season didn't stay 1m4f in only previous attempt at Royal Ascot. Held form after back to back wins until possibly not enjoying softer ground latest. Chance if he stays the trip on this flatter track.
Three time winner over this trip this season including by 12L at Ascot in penultimate start. Upped to 2m latest and patently didn't stay bur return to this trip, even off a career high mark puts him high on the shortlist.
Useful Listed placed two-year-old has had a frustrating season overall but ran well off this mark in penultimate start over 1m2f at Newmarket. Too keen but seemed to stay 1m4f at Ascot latest and still suspect we haven't seen the best of him.
Gradual improver got off the mark with an improved effort when stepped up to this trip at Salisbury but was a little disappointing next in a considerably stronger contest at Goodwood. More to come at this stage and merits respect.
Forecasts
Infrastructure (11/4), Communique (9/2), Pacify (9/2), Alternative Fact (5/1), Genetics (6/1), Not So Sleepy (8/1), Platitude (20/1), Kasperenko (25/1)
A wide open contest but preference is for GENETICS who had been a model of improvement over this trip until not staying 2m latest. Back to the distance where he won his last race by 12L he gets the nod. Three-year-olds Alternative Fact and Infrastructure both remain open to improvement over this trip and the former hinted at being high class earlier in his career.
