Won at the third attempt at Wolverhampton (6f, AW) before struggling in the big sales race at York last time. This is more suitable but has to give weight away all round here which makes life tougher.

Winner here over C&D last month and backed that up with a sound effort under a penalty at Carlisle next time. Moves into nursery company off a fair mark and has leading claims with further progress likely.

Winner of a four-runner maiden at Hamilton in June. Well held on nursery debut back there last time and has been dropped 1lb. This is a stronger race and more is needed.

Won a novice event over 5f at Hamilton back in July. Not been so good since and was well held by a couple of these in a handicap last time. Cheekpieces go of for the first time but needs major improvement.

Fairly consistent performer who's only bad run came in a competitive sales event. Makes nursery debut off what looks a very fair mark and has pretty sound place claims at the very least.

Glorious Charmer16
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-4| J: David Egan| T: E Walker| OR:  77

Has shown pretty steady improvement with each start and having split a couple of subsequent winners at Ffos Las two starts back, he won with a bit up his sleeve back there last time. Up 6lb but going the right way and every chance of more to come.

Showed plenty of improvement on third start when going close at Newcastle (6f, AW) last time. That piece of form makes this opening mark look pretty tempting and should be a player on nursery debut back on turf.

Placed on debut but has taken a slight backward step on recent starts in novice company. Opening mark is workable based on that debut effort but needs to return to form in a good little heat.

Lightning Attackp18

10/3
Shown steady improvement and best effort when going close on handicap debut at Hamilton (6f, soft) last time when holding a couple of today's rivals comfortably. Appreciated the softer ground there and with cheekpieces on has sound claims once more.

Still a maiden after seven starts and was comfortably held by Lightening Attack at Hamilton last time. Needs to show some improvement to be in the shake-up here.

Solid efforts in novice company and was sent off as favourite on handicap debut at Musselburgh last time but she never really got a run. Should do better than that and not out of this getting weight all round.

14:30 Ayr - 21 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A good looking nursery with several of these on the upgrade. Previous winners Glorious Charmer and Kolossus are both very much respected, especially the latter who makes his handicap debut off a fair mark. Lightning Attack is sure to be popular on the back of a sound effort in similar conditions at Hamilton last time when he had several of these in behind. A chance is taken that SHALLOW HAL can improve now switching to handicaps off what looks a very tempting mark.
  1. Shallow Hal
  2. Lightning Attack
  3. Kolossus
