Horse silk

Society Rock colt out of a 1m1f/1¼m winner. Sales price rose markedly to €42,000 last year. so needs a market check for yard enjoying fine season.

Born To Sea half-brother to useful 5f/7f winner Three Sea Captains and 2-y-o 5f winner Remotelinx. Pedigree an odd mix of speed and stamina, and fitting of a tongue-tie for debut is not a positive sign.

Dark Angel half-brother to 7f winner Grand Spirit. Promising 4L fourth of 23 to Breaking Story in 7f maiden at the Curragh on debut, and expected to build on that, with drop in trip a positive if anything.

Bated Breath half-brother to smart 5f winner Oldjoesaid and 6f-7f winner Royal Normandy out of a 2-y-o 6f winner. Already gelded, and yard 0-34 with juveniles since 2011.

By Acclamation. First foal of a 5f winner, herself half-sister to smart sprinter Rain Delayed. Yard also responsible for promising Clashaniska, so market should be a useful guide to his chances.

Represents respected connections, and this Epaulette colt comes from the family of leading sire Elusive Quality. Didn't cost a fortune at breeze-up sales, but still needs a market check.
Declaration of War colt out of a well-related US maiden, and cost $185,000 as a yearling. Appears yard's second-string on jockey bookings, but folly to ignore, and holds a Dewhurst entry.

By Dream Ahead, and the first foal of a fair 6f winner from a good family. Makes some appeal on paper, and yard also has Marlonebundo, so betting will be informative.

13/2
Scat Daddy colt who shaped with plenty of promise when third in a 6f AW maiden at Dundalk in May, and was found to be lame when disappointing next time. Remains with potential, and likely to make a bold bid.

Never competitive when eighth of 12 on debut at Leopardstown (6f) in July, and makes limited appeal once again.

Slade Power colt. First foal of a lightly-raced maiden, and no great appeal on racecourse bow, with yard's newcomers usually in need of experience.

Well held in a couple of starts at up to 1m at the Curragh, looking a long-term project. Needs this for a handicap mark.

Horse silk
50/1
Kodiac half-brother to useful 1¼m winner Wasatch Range out of an unraced half-sister to smart 1m-1¼m winner Beach Bunny. Quite an expensive purchase at 105,000 gns, and market check recommended.

Stepped up on debut form when sixth in a big field at Bellewstown last time, but drops back sharply in trip now, and will have better chances when handicapped.

Horse silk
50/1
Olympic Glory colt who was better than result when eighth of 10 to Western Australia in 7f maiden at Gowran first time, but another who would benefit from a longer trip.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: A C Persse(7)| T: J P O'Brien

Well beaten in two outings to date, and appears something of a longer-term project, who will benefit from a much stiffer test in time.

20/1
Gelded son of Canford Cliffs out of an unraced half-sister to useful 2-y-o 1m winner Argumentative. Jumps-orientated yard has had a 2-y-o winner here this season, but others make more appeal here.

Iffraaj colt who showed early speed on Curragh debut last month, but was ultimately well beaten. Sure to improve, but has plenty to find.

15:55 Naas - 19 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Dunkirk Harbour is an interesting debutant for the Coolmore team, and merits respect, but Donnacha O'Brien seemingly prefers EMPIRE STATE, who finished lame when expected to win at Cork in May, and is taken to confirm the promise of his Dundalk introduction after a break. Clashaniska shaped really well when fourth at the Curragh last month, and could be the main stumbling block.
  1. Empire State
  2. Clashaniska
  3. Dunkirk Harbour
