Fastnet Rock half-brother to US 2-y-o Grade 1 winner Toccet and 1½m-2m winner Agreement. Shaped quite well when third of 8 to Autumn War at Goodwood on belated debut recently, and ought to improve if over those efforts.

No more than modest form in bumpers, and could finish only seventh of 9 on Flat bow at Windsor earlier this month. Must leave that behind.

Showed ability in two runs last year, and unsuited by drop to 7f when 7¼L fifth of 14 to Flavius Titus here when last seen in November. Will do better, although long absence an obvious concern.

25/1
Full-brother to Group 2 Prix Eugene Adam winner Finche and half-brother to Group 1 Prince of Wales's Stakes winner Byword and multiple US Grade 1 winner Proviso. Fitting of tongue-tie for debut a worry, but makes plenty of appeal on pedigree.

Showed something on debut at Windsor in June, but went backwards from that when beaten over 20L at Wolverhampton last time, and makes no great appeal here.

Cost 60,000 gns and put in a solid stint when introduced in a Goodwood maiden in June, staying on well for third. Eased as if amiss when well below that form at Pontefract in July and off since. Capable of better.

Just a modest pedigree, but shaped well when when nose second of 11 to Klassique at Windsor on debut, and ran into one when 1¼L second of 9 to Midi there last time. Leading claims if adapting to new surface.

25/1
Sea The Stars half-brother to smart 1m½f-1¼m winner Moneycantbuymelove and useful 1m-1¼m winner Flood Warning. Cost 300,000 gns as a yearling, but gelded ahead of belated debut, and tongue-tie sounds another note of caution.

Well bred Redoute's Choice filly who was an expensive yearling purchase at €500,000. Better than result after a slow start when 6L third of 13 to Welsh Lord in novice at Chelmsford on debut, and sure to progress from that.

Horse silk
10/1
Frankel half-sister to smart 1¼m-1½m winner Kitesurf out of owner's Group 3 Pinnacle Stakes winner Shimmering Surf. Another with a decent pedigree, and worth a market check ahead of belated debut.

Homebred daughter of Harbour Watch and half-sister to a dual middle-distance winner. Didn't go with any immediate promise when down the field over 1m here last month.

Forecasts

Enbihaar (4/5), Petrastar (2/1), Sparkling Surf (10/1), Mobham (12/1), Butterfield (20/1), Toshima (25/1), Hainaut (25/1), Doctor Knox (33/1), Maknifico (50/1), Tralee Hills (100/1), Willow Grace (100/1)

19:30 Kempton - 18 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

He's got an ordinary pedigree, but PETRASTAR has looked better than average in going down to a couple of classy sorts in two outings at Windsor, and while he risks running into one again here, deserves a change of fortune. Enbihaar caught the eye on debut and is feared most, although Hainaut and Sparkling Surf are just two of a number of well-bred debutants, so need a market check.
