Unplaced in three bumpers and a novice hurdle for Neil Mulholland and makes Flat debut here for new connections. Surprising if he's got the pace to be competitive over a mile.

Camacho gelding out of a 5f juvenile winner. Didn't show much on debut at Southwell last month, missing the kick and never getting into it when well beaten 10th of 11 over minimum trip. Longer distance may help but hard to get excited about.

Looked to be progressing in the spring when second here over 7f then close third over a mile at Wetherby but has made little impact in last two starts in handicaps. Respected, but needs to bounce back.

11/4
£75,000 Hellvelyn gelding who looked very green on debut when distant third of four at Haydock but did better last time at Redcar when beaten just over a length in fifth in 7f maiden, slightly hampered near finish. Has decent claims.

Firebreak colt out of Listed placed dam so has a fair pedigree. Yard not known for debutant scorers so unless there is market confidence it is likely he'll be better for this initial experience.

Dam was decent but this gelded son of Champs Elysees hasn't looked any great shakes in too very modest efforts so far. Future probably lies in handicaps a little further down the line.

Mid-division in two novice events over this course and distance, hinting each time he could have enough ability to win a race or two in due course. Very much appears the type for handicaps going forward but an improved display not ruled out here.

Debut for this Havana Gold gelding whose dam is an unraced half-sister to a decent German middle-distance performer. Stable having a very quiet time and others make much more appeal.

Placed at up to a mile for Mick Channon. Joined new yard at the end of last month and had a spin on the sand at Laytown recently. Back on artifical sand has better prospects and good apprentice takes 3lb off so is interesting.

Cost connections just £1,000 as an unraced three-year-old this summer and makes belated debut. Dam is half-sister to Group 1 Racing Post Trophy winner Kingsbarns but was unraced. Expected to benefit from this experience.

Tuscan Pearl14
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: L Morris| T: W J Knight
16/1
Medicean filly who caught the eye on debut in mile maiden at Newbury last October finishing sixth of 14. Not seen again until earlier this month where shaped well until getting tired a furlong out over 1m3f at Windsor and drop back should suit.

Forecasts

Climb Aboard (7/4), Global Melody (11/4), Rippling Waters (7/2), Reignite (8/1), Sploosh (16/1), Tuscan Pearl (16/1), Chief Sittingbull (33/1), Roodeparis (50/1), Havana Sunrise (50/1), Tilsworth Gold (100/1), Whatdoesnotkillyou (150/1)

19:30 Kempton - 17 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This looks the weaker of the two divisions and it would not surprise to see TUSCAN PEARL build on the promise of her two appearances so far and land the spoils. She will be better for her recent run over further and the drop back to a mile looks the right call. Climb Aboard won't be far away if returning to the form shown earlier this season, while Rippling Waters can't be ruled out either, nor can Sploosh. Global Melody is going the right way and could give the selection most to do though judging on his slightly unlucky fifth at Redcar last time.
  1. Tuscan Pearl
  2. Global Melody
  3. Climb Aboard
