Returned from a break with a sound effort at Newton abbot (2m5f, good) 11 days ago. That should have blown away the cobwebs and on a decent mark. Claims despite giving weight away all round here.
Had been running well back in the spring before poor effort when backed into favourite at Southwell in April. Returns from a break today and market likely to be a good guide. best efforts on a softer surface.
Won on his chasing debut in a race that looked modest at the time but has worked out well (Lingfield, 2m4f). Bounced back from a poor second run in first-time blinkers to beat two rivals at Catterick in January. Returns from a six-month break here.
Won off a 10lb lower mark at Cartmel in May. Struggled back there on soft ground up in class last time. This should be more to his liking but needs to bounce back all the same.
Admirable front-runner who still gives his all. Well held in third at Newton Abbot when last seen in July, given a short break and will give it a good go once again.
Chase mark is well below what he was achieving over hurdles. Jumping has largely been the issue but showed a bit more after wind surgery at Market Rasen last time and sooner or later he is going to exploit this mark.
Ha looked a shadow of his former self for a year or so now. Mark is tumbling as a result but very hard to fancy in current form unless the market were to scream his name.

Forecasts
Soupy Soups (9/5), On Demand (7/2), Somewhere To Be (6/1), Cernunnos (7/1), Strumble Head (7/1), Capard King (8/1), Middlebrow (8/1), Border Breaker (18/1)
Strumble Head is still capable on his day on might have a few of these on the go if he gets his own way in the lead. Cernunnos is too well handicapped to ignore and would become of real interest should he be strong in the market. We will take a chance that the jumping of SOUPY SOUPS will hold up today. He is another who looks dangerously well handicapped and hopefully can now improve on his second start since wind surgery.
