Hat-trick of wins as a three-year-old, but has been in the handicapper's grip since then. Not disgraced in first-time blinkers in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot when last seen and has claims off 2lb lower with a hood tried on this occasion.

Winner 11 times in Italy and ran a fine race on first start for current trainer when close fourth in a hot claiming handicap over C&D. Should improve and make his presence felt off 1lb lower.

Can be a bit hit and miss, but has won six races, including a handicap at Redcar last month. Has two AW wins to his credit, but was well beaten at this course at the beginning of this month.

Haydock winner in July and has performed with plenty of credit since. Acts on the AW, but is slightly vulnerable off this mark.

Only two runs on the AW and has won them both. Last of nine at Newmarket on handicap debut in July, but may do much better back on an artificial surface with cheekpieces fitted.

Still looking for his first win this year, but was not far behind Azzeccagarbugli when sixth at this track last time. Not one of the more likely winners, however.

Beaten out of sight when last seen in a Worcester novices' hurdle. Earlier Flat form not good enough to suggest he is up to winning a race of this nature.

Series of good efforts in valuable handicaps before underperforming at York last month. Needs to bounce back, but won only AW start at Kempton.

Lightly-raced gelding who has won twice on turf this season and was a beaten favourite at Pontefract on latest outing. Acts on the AW and looks a player for leading connections.

Wore cheekpieces for the first time and probably found the ground too soft when fifth of eight at Haydock last week. Has won over 7f at this track and the headgear is left off.

Forecasts

Georgian Manor (3/1), Corrosive (4/1), Tricorn (9/2), Moqarrab (9/2), Commander Han (5/1), Secret Art (8/1), Masham Star (10/1), Manson (12/1), Mythical Madness (16/1), Azzeccagarbugli (33/1), Tenor (50/1)

19:15 Chelmsford City - 10 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A good prize up for grabs and plenty of viable contenders. At the top end of the handicap, cases can be made for Tricorn and Azzeccagarbugli, but the three-year-olds may hold sway this time and the overall form of CORROSIVE and victory on his only AW start earns him a narrow verdict over Georgian Manor. A third three-year-old, Moqarrab, has won both his AW contests and is interesting in first-time cheekpieces.
  1. Corrosive
  2. Georgian Manor
  3. Moqarrab
