C&D winner in July 2017 who added another win soon after at Market Rasen. Back to winning ways latest at Worcester over 2m4f in a claimer and that form certainly makes him a leading contender in first-time blinkers.
Dual hurdles winner has been campaigned over fences lately and run reasonably well without seriously threatening. Only 3lb above last winning mark over hurdles and no reason he can't be involved based on chase wellbeing.
Over two years since his lone win at Bangor for Charlie Longsdon. Placed in last three starts, twice over 2m at Uttoxeter and latest at Bangor upped to 2m7f. Obviously in good form as he drops into a seller and has legitimate claims.
Placed just once over hurdles (a distant third at Southwell in June). Beaten a long way out in three starts since so hard to be optimistic and first-time blinkers the only possible positive.
2016 Fontwell winner for Harry Whittington has showed very little in four starts for current yard. Tailed-off in three starts over hurdles before pulled up over fences latest. Hard to be optimistic at present.
Course winner in 2017 also ran well over C&D in penultimate start finishing third. Never travelled next at Uttoxeter ands given time since. Has possibilities on course form despite being 1lb out of the handicap.
Kilbeggan maiden hurdle winner has shown little in two starts for current yard at Uttoxeter and Newton Abbot. 3lb out of the handicap and hard to be enthusiastic.
Forecasts
Vive Le Roi (9/4), Elysian Prince (3/1), Mizen Master (7/2), Take A Break (6/1), Affaire D'Honneur (10/1), Oksana (11/1), Ayelya (14/1)
MIZEN MASTER won at Worcester last time out and despite having to give plenty of weight all round he is fancied to follow-up here in a relatively uncompetitive race. Vive Le Roi is the most obvious threat having run well in his last couple of races and this trip may be ideal. Take A Break also appeals as quite fairly treated on his return to hurdling.
